FOR those eyeing the ASUS ZenFone 4 Max, ZenFone 4 Selfie, ZenFone 4 Selfie Pro, ZenFone 4 Pro, or ZenFone 4, today’s local announcement brings good news. ASUS Philippines has revealed their prices.

The ZenFone 4 Max with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage will run you P9,995 (roughly $194), while the Selfie and Selfie Pro, both replete with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage, are priced at P13,995 ($272) and P18,995 ($369), respectively.

The flagship, the ASUS ZenFone 4 Pro with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, will set you back P39,995 ($778) when it hits stores. The ZenFone 4, on the other hand, is pegged at P28,995 ($564). We’re assuming this is for the faster Snapdragon 660 variant, but still: Oof!

However, the last two are not available yet. Only the Max and the Selfie phones can be bought from ASUS concept stores and authorized dealers and Lazada Philippines. The ZenFone 4 Max seems to be a kick-ass deal, bearing the biggest battery (5,000mAh) among the ZenFone 4 bunch and offering enough processing muscle in the form of a Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 chipset. It also has a fingerprint reader on the front, as well as two rear-facing cameras — one with a wide-angle lens to get more people or scenery into the user’s vanity shots.

The regular ZenFone 4 Selfie undercuts the prices of some selfie-crazed smartphones on the market, though it remains to be seen if it beats these handsets in other key areas. As it stands, the Pro model could prove difficult to sell, not least of which because it rocks an aging Snapdragon 625 processor. It’s also virtually indistinguishable from the ZenFone 4 Selfie, and from a distance, the much cheaper ZenFone 4 Max.
