SO our friend Adam Parnala stumbled upon these Instagram posts by two of the hottest Philippine teen celebrities today, Julia Barretto and Joshua Garcia. Are the phones they’re holding the OPPO F5?

Thank you, OPPO! I better #Slay this selfie challenge at the #StarMagicBall2017 ✨ #CaptureTheRealYou #SelfieExpert

Is that an OPPO F5 Julia Barretto is holding?

Joshua Garcia with the OPPO F5?

Our instinct tells us that’s from the OPPO F3 series successor we’ve been waiting for.

Take note of one of the hashtags these Filipino celebrities, known as JoshLia to their fans, have used — #SelfieExpert. OPPO’s selfie-centric line of smartphones is the F series, and we were still at OPPO when we debuted that lineup (yes, this is a disclosure). The company has never used an even number for the names of its products, hence our guess that OPPO’s next hero handset will use the number 5.

Based on the Instagram videos, what we believe to be the OPPO F5 looks like the recently launched Vivo V7+. It also seems that the nearly borderless screen measures 6 inches and has an 18:9 aspect ratio. On the back is a fingerprint sensor and one camera as well.

Unlike the MediaTek-powered OPPO F3, the OPPO F5 will probably feature a mid-tier Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, just like the OPPO F3 Plus.

There are no leaks of the device from our usual sources, so take the details below with a grain of salt:

Hmm. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

We might get more information during the September 30 Star Magic Ball event, where Julia and Joshua (and most likely other ABS-CBN artists) will be using the phone to take selfies of themselves. Or not.

Don’t worry, the launch of the device is scheduled for October. That’s just right around the corner — we won’t have to wait long.
