HONOR Philippines isn’t slowing down its smartphone game anytime soon. Just when you thought the company had dropped enough devices to last a year, it’s about to launch another one, and this time, the product can handle a splash or two.

(Update, October 29: And we have the launch date of this smartphone!)

We at Revu actually already teased the HONOR phone earlier. If you’ve been keeping tabs on what’s happening in the global technology scene, you’ve probably guessed the model by now.

HONOR Philippines vice president Stephen Cheng dropped a hint, saying, “We are known for durable devices, and now we are taking the standard up a notch.”

The announcement comes on the heels of the local release of the HONOR Pad X8a and HONOR X6b. Priced at P6,999 (around $120), the latter continues the X series’ legacy of ruggedness. It has undergone extensive drop testing by SGS, resulting in a “five-star overall drop resistance certification” that confirms its ability to withstand everyday impacts. The Pad X8a, on the other hand, is a tablet that features an aluminum body, an 11-inch screen, and quad speakers — all for a budget-friendly price of P7,999 ($138).

New HONOR phone teased

HONOR described the upcoming device as an “all-angle water-resistant smartphone,” one that’s perfect for users with an active lifestyle.

We’re currently testing the smartphone, so we should be able to share our review soon. We still don’t know when it will become available in the country, but check back here for updates on the launch date and price. In the meantime, you can follow HONOR’s social media platforms.
