HONOR Philippines is once again going viral with its elevated durability challenges (watch us boil our unit!) for the smartphone that it’s launching on January 10, the HONOR X9c 5G. To substantiate its durability claims, the brand has revealed the secrets behind the exceptional toughness of its upcoming device.

“The HONOR X9c 5G has an all-angle triple defense now. It is not just drop-resistant like the HONOR X9a and HONOR X9b 5G were known for; it’s now water- and heat-resistant, making it the toughest phone on the market yet,” said HONOR Philippines vice president Stephen Cheng.

The company expounded on what’s behind the HONOR X9c 5G’s ultra-toughness:

  • Back-to-back super double tempered glass. Not only does the screen use this top-of-the-line tempered glass, but the camera module also has the same material. This one’s more durable than others of its kind, providing the HONOR X9c 5G with 360-degree drop protection from up to two meters. The smartphone has also survived drop tests on over 10 surfaces, including marble, cobblestone, gravel, and asphalt.
  • Technical principle-under-screen shock-absorbing material. The gap between the screen and the middle frame is filled with a shock-absorbing material that minimizes impact from the frame’s hard supporting components, further protecting the display.
  • Three-layer water-resistant structure. The first layer features a liquid injection molding rubber ring to protect external ports, including the side keys, speaker, and card tray. The second layer safeguards interfaces with a USB rubber sleeve featuring a straight surface match and double sealing ribs, and the card holder uses precisely sized pinholes to control roughness and reduce leakage. The third layer provides board-level and software protection, including BTB protection with added foam and waterproof detection with software safeguards.
