ASUS has officially launched its latest 16-inch gaming laptops, the V16 (V3607) and X16 (K3605), in the Philippines. These entry-level models expand the company’s gaming PC lineup, targeting consumers eager to get into PC gaming without breaking the bank.
The more budget-friendly ASUS X16 starts at P49,995 (around $899), while the ASUS V16 is priced from P59,995 ($1,079). Both machines feature Intel processors and dedicated Nvidia GeForce graphics. Between the two, the V16 appears to be the more compelling option, boasting a more advanced Intel Core 5 (Series 2) processor and a more powerful discrete GPU.
Interestingly, the X16 appears to be a locally configured variant of the updated Vivobook 16X available in other markets. That would explain the outdated RTX 3050 graphics inside.

That’s totally not the case with the ASUS V16, which arrives with a more attractive, gaming-focused aesthetic, with a futuristic Turbo Blue keyboard backlight, neon-highlighted transparent WASD and arrow keys, and twill-textured side details. The Matte Black finish offers a stylish look while keeping fingerprints at bay, maintaining a clean exterior at all times.
The V16 packs Intel’s Core 5 (Series 2) CPU inside, and you can spec it out with up to an Nvidia GeForce RTX 5060 for graphics grunt. That combo should be plenty for zipping through creative apps and handling your gaming sessions. The RTX 5060 also brings DLSS 4 into the mix, which allows you to squeeze out higher frame rates and better visuals without tanking performance in supported games. To keep things cool when you’re pushing it, ASUS has thrown in a dual-fan and heat-pipe setup.

Elsewhere, the 16-inch IPS display runs at a smooth 144Hz with a 1080p resolution. For gamers, that high refresh rate is key for keeping things fluid and reducing annoying lag or screen tearing — it’s the kind of responsiveness you want when you’re in the thick of it. The screen also boasts an impressive (for the price point) 89% screen-to-body ratio, meaning less bezel and more picture, which is always a plus for immersion, whether you’re gaming or just watching videos. Audio-wise, you’re looking at Dirac tech paired with the Taiwanese manufacturer’s in-house audio booster.
For better video calls, the ASUS V16 includes a webcam with AI noise cancellation to cut out background chatter, 3D Noise Reduction to clean up the image, and a physical shutter for that extra peace of mind when you’re not using it. You likewise get a larger touchpad — ASUS claims it’s 40% bigger than some rivals – and a generous keyboard designed for long typing sessions.
Both the V16 and X16 are available now at select ASUS stores and include a bundled ASUS Nereus backpack, suitable for 16-inch laptops, along with a three-month subscription to Microsoft’s Xbox Game Pass — or, as we like to call it, the “Netflix of video games.”
