HONOR Philippines is stirring the pot, teasing the imminent arrival of the HONOR Pad X9a, a tablet that promises a significant upgrade, particularly on the AI front.

The company’s official channels have revealed that the device will be released in the country on May 15. However, the local teaser remains light on specifications, opting instead to highlight potential AI capabilities geared towards enhancing e-learning and work efficiency, along with promises of improved battery life and a refined design.

Guess what was waiting for us when we got home from a video shoot? :p

The thing is, the HONOR Pad X9a has already been unveiled in Malaysia, giving us a clearer look at what to expect. That tablet sports a generous 11.5-inch LCD display with a sharp 2.5K resolution and a smooth 120Hz refresh rate, promising a vibrant and fluid visual experience. It’s powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 685 processor, paired with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage in the Wi-Fi only variant, which launched with a price tag of RM999 (roughly P12,872 or $232). An LTE variant with 256GB storage was also announced later in Malaysia for RM1,299 (P16,379 or $302).

For optics, the Malaysian version features an 8-megapixel camera on the rear and a 5-megapixel shooter upfront, sufficient for video calls and casual photography. Keeping the lights on is an 8,300mAh battery with support for 35-watt charging, which HONOR claims can offer substantial standby time. It runs on Android 15 with the brand’s MagicOS 9.0 on top. The Pad X9a also boasts a quad-speaker setup, which should provide a decent audio experience for media consumption.

HONOR Pad X9a launch teaser for the Philippine market

It’s worth noting that the last HONOR tablet to pass through our labs here at Revü Philippines was the HONOR Pad X8a, which we reviewed back in October 2024. That model impressed us with how it focused on delivering a solid tablet experience that nailed the fundamentals. With the arrival of the HONOR Pad X9a, there’s anticipation that it will build upon that foundation and continue to deliver compelling value.
