Samsung is almost ready to pull back the curtain on its latest creation.

The Korean electronics giant is set to officially unveil the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge at a virtual Unpacked event happening on Monday, May 12, at 8:00 p.m. ET. For those of us here in the Philippines, that means tuning in on Tuesday, May 13th, at 8:00 a.m.

The announcement finally clears up at least one big question we’ve had about Samsung’s much-anticipated slim phone, which the company first teased back in January and then previewed at MWC 2025 in Barcelona, Spain.

According to the official invite, Samsung is positioning the Galaxy S25 Edge as “more than a slim smartphone.” The invite highlights how “every curve, contour, and component” reflects “a breakthrough in precise engineering to create a premium experience worthy of the S series name.” A companion blog post published alongside today’s announcement adds another tidbit or two, but, as expected, we’ll still have to tune in next week.

Leaks suggest the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge is expected to feature a 6.7-inch AMOLED display with a sharp 2K resolution and a smooth 120Hz refresh rate. It’s also said to have an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensor. Protecting the screen is a sheet of Corning Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2, while the back panel uses Gorilla Glass Victus 2.

Rumors also suggest the frame is titanium, likely of Samsung’s Armor Aluminum variety. To be clear, Armor Aluminum is a strong, light, and corrosion-resistant aluminum alloy designed to enhance the device’s durability while maintaining a sleek appearance. Speaking of thinness — which, of course, is a crucial selling point here — leaks claim the unit measures a mere 5.85mm thick and tips the scales at just 163 grams. It’s likewise expected to feature IP68 dust and water resistance, a standard for modern flagships.

Under the hood, the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge is said to pack a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy top-end chipset, paired with 12GB of physical RAM. Camera-wise, expect a 200-megapixel main sensor, coupled with an f/1.7 aperture lens and OIS. There’s also a 12-megapixel ultrawide featuring an f/2.2 lens. Up front, selfie duties are handled by a 12-megapixel camera. In terms of software, the Galaxy S25 Edge will likely ship with Android 15 layered with the brand’s One UI 7, bringing along the full suite of Galaxy AI features we’ve seen recently.

Naturally, achieving such a slim profile comes with a tradeoff or two. Besides the absence of a telephoto shooter, the most significant compromise appears to be the battery: a 3,900mAh cell, which would be the smallest in the entire S25 lineup. On the plus side, this handset is still expected to support wireless charging.

As for price, leaks out of Germany suggest the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge could start at €1,249 (around $1,413 or P78,366) for the 256GB base model, climbing to €1,369 ($1,550 or P85,895) for 512GB of storage. This pricing, if accurate, would predictably position the S25 Edge right between the S25 Plus and the top-tier S25 Ultra in Samsung’s current S25 lineup, based on launch prices. Here in the Philippines, for reference, the Galaxy S25 Plus starts at P67,990 ($1,226), while the Galaxy S25 Ultra is priced from P84,990 ($1,533).

We’ll know all the official details soon enough when the event kicks off next week.
