Antutu has just unveiled its May 2025 performance rankings for China, highlighting the crème de la crème of Android smartphones and tablets.
What does the latest leaderboard show? Let’s dive into the results and see which devices claimed the top spots.
Top 10 flagship smartphones: Qualcomm stays on top
The May 2025 rankings paint a clear picture of the ongoing silicon skirmish at the top tier. Qualcomm’s current powerhouses, the Snapdragon 8 Elite Leading Edition and the Snapdragon 8 Elite, dominate the charts. They power seven of the 10 phones, including the chart-topping RedMagic 10S Pro Plus, which achieved an average monthly benchmark score of 2,951,251.
MediaTek isn’t just sitting by, though. The Taiwanese chipmaker’s Dimensity 9400 Plus is proving to be a formidable challenger, securing three spots within the top 10. This includes fourth-placer OnePlus Ace 5 Ultra, fifth-placer vivo X200s, and ninth-placer OPPO Find X8s Plus, showcasing MediaTek’s significant stride in closing the performance gap at the very top.
Top 10 sub-flagship smartphones: MediaTek dominates
This one reveals a different kind of silicon dominance, with MediaTek taking center stage. The top three spots are firmly held by handsets rocking various iterations of the chipmaker’s Dimensity 8400 and 8450 series, spearheaded by the Dimensity 8400-based iQOO Z10 Turbo with 1,782,186 points. Indeed, a remarkable eight out of the top 10 sub-flagships are powered by a Dimensity SoC, underscoring MediaTek’s strategic focus and significant gains in this crucial performance segment.
While Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 7 Plus Gen 3 and Snapdragon 7 Plus Gen 2 make an appearance in units like the OnePlus Ace 3V and Redmi Note 12 Turbo, it’s clear that MediaTek has carved out a commanding lead in delivering compelling performance for phones just a step below the absolute flagships. At least in synthetic tests.
Top 10 tablets: Qualcomm’s powerhouses define the premium segment
Qualcomm’s premium silicon is leading the charge in this category. The Snapdragon 8 Elite powers the entire top three — the OPPO Pad 4 Pro with 2,851,747 points, OnePlus Pad 2 Pro with 2,834,737 points, and Lenovo Legion Y700 2025 with 2,711,243 points — showcasing a tight race at the forefront of Android tablet power.
Beyond that elite tier, the list diversifies a bit. We see a strong showing from high-end Dimensity 9400 Plus and Dimensity 9300 chipsets in devices like the iQOO Pad5 Pro and vivo Pad3 Pro, proving MediaTek’s prowess across various price points. Interestingly, the Xiaomi Pad 7 Ultra, powered by the Chinese technology giant’s first flagship in-house chip named the Xring O1, makes an appearance in the sixth-placed entry, hinting at custom silicon efforts. Even Qualcomm’s previous-generation Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 still holds its own, with tablets like the OPPO Pad 3 Pro and OnePlus Pad Pro rounding out the top 10.
