RedMagic recently unveiled the Gaming Tablet 3 Pro in China, alongside a slew of other new products. Now, nubia‘s gaming sub-brand is wasting no time teasing the tablet’s international debut.

(Update, July 1: The RedMagic Gaming Tablet 3 Pro has launched globally as the RedMagic Astra Gaming Tablet!)

Just like the RedMagic Nova before it, the RedMagic Astra Gaming Tablet is set to launch globally as the international variant of the RedMagic Gaming Tablet 3 Pro. Importantly, it has hinted that the Astra will retain the core hardware that made its Chinese counterpart compelling. That includes the powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, RedMagic’s advanced ICE-X cooling system, and a pretty compact 9.06-inch OLED display.

That screen is a particular highlight, with the company marketing it as the industry’s narrowest four-sided screen on a device of its kind. With a 90.1% screen-to-body ratio, the RedMagic Astra Gaming Tablet manages to pack its larger panel into a body comparable to traditional 8.8-inch slate. Perhaps even more significantly, it’s also being positioned as the industry’s “first OLED small gaming tablet,” a detail that should pique the interest of mobile gamers.

According to the brand’s press release, ‘global launch details for the RedMagic Astra Gaming Tablet will be officially announced on July 1

For context, last year’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 3-powered RedMagic Nova Gaming Tablet launched internationally at $499 (P27,834 around) for the 12GB/256GB model, with the 16GB/512GB version priced at $649 (P36,201). Locally, the base Nova variant was available online in the Philippines for ₱31,269 ($560) at launch.

The Astra is scheduled for international availability starting July 1, though its global pricing remains under wraps for now. To give you an idea, the China-exclusive Gaming Tablet 3 Pro comes in Eclipse Black and Starfrost Silver. In its home market, the 12GB/256GB base model starts at ¥4,199 ($584 or P32,561), climbing to ¥5,999 ($834 or P46,520) for the top-tier configuration packing 24GB of RAM and 1TB of storage.

When it comes to raw power, the RedMagic Astra Gaming Tablet is poised to be one of the most powerful Android tablets on the market — if not the most powerful. This is thanks to the combination of Qualcomm’s bleeding-edge mobile silicon and RedMagic’s optimized cooling system, complete with a built-in fan, ensuring sustained peak performance even during intense gaming sessions.
