Samsung is ready to show off its next big thing in foldables, and from a direct press release that hit our inbox today, June 4, it’s less about a spec bump and more about delivering a complete “Ultra” experience. The company is teasing what’s almost certainly the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold7 Ultra, highlighting a refined design and deep AI integration.
This new device is expected to debut at an Unpacked event in early July, likely in New York, alongside the standard Galaxy Z Fold7, Galaxy Z Flip7, and a Galaxy Z Flip7 FE. Samsung is positioning this “Ultra” variant as a direct response to years of user demand for bigger screens, better cameras, and new ways to connect and create. Recall that the previous lineup was launched on July 10 last year. In the Philippines, it was priced from P70,990 (roughly $1,273).
Samsung’s press release clearly pitches an “Ultra” experience. It aims to transcend basic feature upgrades, focusing instead on a more compact and portable form. The emphasis is on effortlessly blending design and engineering for improved daily interactions. Samsung envisions navigating a crowded subway, phone folded, using AI voice commands to find a restaurant or text a friend. It’s less about raw numbers and more how the smartphone adapts to you.

Reports suggest this “Ultra” designation isn’t just marketing. Teasers indicate a notably slimmer profile than any previous Galaxy Fold, aiming to undercut even the 5.6mm Galaxy Z Fold6. Achieving this while packing in “industry-leading hardware, cutting-edge performance, and seamless AI integration” is a challenge Samsung seems ready for.
Word has it the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold7 Ultra gets a best-in-class camera. Following 2024’s W25, which is the Fold Special Edition in China and Korea, we could see an 8-inch main display, a 6.5-inch cover screen, a 200-megapixel primary sensor, and 16GB of RAM.
Ultimately, it all comes back to the experience. Samsung’s press release emphasizes how AI features are designed to keep you connected and productive all day — whether messaging, browsing, or gaming — without feeling like a burden. When it unfolds, it’s meant to transform into an immersive entertainment center, a roomy workspace, or a multitasking powerhouse, all supercharged by Galaxy AI features optimized for the foldable format.
With the Galaxy Z Fold7 Ultra, Samsung is clearly aiming to redefine what “Ultra” means in the folding-phone space. We’ll see how it shakes out in July.
