Soundcore, the audio sub-brand under Anker Innovations (yes, that hugely popular power bank company), recently debuted its latest mainstream earphones — the Soundcore Liberty 5 — across Southeast Asia, including the Philippines.
The Liberty 5, a follow-up to the well-received Liberty 4 that launched back in 2022 and marketed by Soundcore as its “best voice-noise-canceling earbuds” yet, are now available in the Philippines via Soundcore’s official website, as well as online e-commerce platforms Lazada and Shopee. They have a suggested retail price of P5,995, or roughly $107 converted, and come in five distinct colors, namely Black, White, Blue, Apricot, and Champagne Gold. Like other Liberty models, these boast a stem design and a flatter case style reminiscent of the Liberty 4 Pro’s.
And like their predecessors, noise reduction is the big story here. In fact, the Soundcore Liberty 5 are said to offer twice the voice reduction performance of their predecessor, which have been lauded for their exceptional noise cancellation.
So, how do the Liberty 5 manage all that peace and quiet? It’s all thanks to their adaptive ANC 3.0 algorithm. Think of it this way: These earphones combine a special acoustic design with some smart processing to essentially double the voice suppression compared to older models. They are specifically designed to pinpoint and quiet down the 300Hz–3kHz vocal frequency range, which is supposedly where the main energy of the human voice resides.

Plus, they’re constantly scanning your surroundings 180 times a minute, making real-time adjustments. What does that mean for you? A much more peaceful commute on those noisy jeepneys and trains. And when you’re on a call, all six microphones kick in to deliver crystal-clear voice input, making sure you come through loud and clear while intelligently filtering out background noise.
Battery life is also reportedly excellent. Soundcore claims these new earbuds offer 12 hours of playtime with ANC off and 8 hours with ANC on. The fully charged case and buds are rated to deliver a total of 48 hours (ANC off) or 32 hours (ANC on) of combined battery life.
As for the earbuds themselves, they’re equipped with a new 9.2mm wool-paper composite driver designed to minimize distortion, achieving three times the clarity in mid and high frequencies compared to conventional true wireless systems. The Soundcore Liberty 5 also feature Dolby Audio technology, alongside LDAC support. Other notable features include their IP55 certification, wireless charging for the case, Bluetooth 5.4 with multi-point connection, and Google Fast Pair.
