It’s a good week for mobile gamers! FATE: Reawakened, a remastered collection of the classic FATE action RPG series, has arrived on both Apple’s App Store and the Google Play Store.

This mobile launch follows hot on the heels of FATE: Reawakened’s debut on consoles (read: PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch) as well as PC. The bundle itself is a treasure trove especially for fans, containing remasters of the original 2005 FATE action RPG, alongside its acclaimed sequels: FATE: Undiscovered Realms, FATE: The Traitor Soul, and FATE: The Cursed King.

The base game is currently available for $9.99 on iOS and Android, with a 20% launch discount to celebrate its release. For those who want the complete experience, a full 4-in-1 collection can be unlocked via an in-app purchase. You can grab it now from the App Store for iOS devices and Google Play for Android devices. There’s a free-to-play demo of the original game included, so you can test the waters before committing to the full price.

For those in the Philippines, FATE: Reawakened kicks off at P500 for the base game, while the comprehensive 4-in-1 bundle is priced at P1,050. It’s not cheap, but then again, we’re talking about a high-quality mobile game that doesn’t demand an online connection or, even worse, lure you into the pitfalls of costly gacha mechanics or aggressive in-game purchases. We encourage you to give it a look if a self-contained, Diablo-like RPG experience is what you’re after.

Hardware-wise, it’s pretty forgiving, too. The requirements aren’t steep, and you can tweak several graphics settings — including the ability to hit a smooth 60 FPS — to perfectly suit your device’s capabilities.

For the uninitiated, the FATE games, originally developed by WildTangent, which was acquired by gamigo in 2019, are quintessential dungeon-crawlers. Players delve into procedurally generated dungeons, meaning the layout shifts with every new entry, ensuring a fresh experience each time you play. As you progress, you’ll naturally amass a bounty of loot and gold, all while honing your character’s abilities and skills. And much like many contemporary action RPGs, you”re not alone; a loyal pet accompanies you, ready to aid in combat, carry your inventory, and even make trips back to town to offload any unwanted gear.

We’ve taken the game’s demo for a spin, and so far, it feels like a genuine homage to the original FATE we cherished back in the day. We haven’t had a chance to dive into its console or PC counterparts just yet. However, a notable omission on the mobile port that we consider a dealbreaker is the lack of game-controller support. Once the devs integrate this feature, we might just be persuaded to pick up the entire collection and give it a more thorough review.

In the meantime, if you’re on the hunt for a high-quality, offline Diablo-like game that mirrors the experience of FATE: Reawakened, we highly recommend checking out Titan Quest and Phantom Tower. Both are readily available on iOS and Android devices, and they both offer full controller support.
