TechLife is dropping a new compact tablet in the Philippines. The TechLife Pad Lite 8″ is officially launching on July 11, but the real magic happens at 12 a.m. on July 12 for its first-selling event. You might to want to set an alarm for this one.

The standard retail price for the 8-inch HD-display-touting tablet in Champagne Gold and Lilac Purple is P4,999 or around $88 converted. But here’s the part that makes this a genuinely interesting proposition: From July 12 to July 14, exclusively on Shopee, you can purchase the upcoming product for as low as P3,779 ($67) when you redeem platform vouchers. That’s a significant chunk off, making it incredibly competitive in the budget tablet space.

To sweeten the deal, the very first buyers will also receive a free TechLife Pad Lite 8″ Folio Case and a Globe 5G SIM. Just remember, this is a “while supplies last” kind of situation, so if you’re serious about this, you’ll need to be quick on the draw.

TechLife Pad Lite 8″ launch teaser

What are you actually getting? The realme sub-brand has not revealed the full specs yet, but its press release positions the TechLife Pad Lite 8″ as a versatile companion for “lifelong learning.” Sounds like marketing speak, but dig a little deeper, and you find some genuinely useful features for its price point. We’re talking 4G LTE and VoLTE connectivity — a big deal for staying connected on the go, whether you’re streaming a webinar on your commute or chatting with your family. At a mere 337.9 grams, it’s light enough to actually carry around, and with 600 hours of standby time, you won’t be constantly hunting for an outlet. Plus, 10-watt fast charging is a welcome touch.

TechLife is pitching it for everything from self-improvement courses and creative skill-building to simply being a shared family device for educational content. The detachable and screw-in stands are neat additions for hands-free viewing, and the promise of “crisp audio” and a “vivid HD display” suggests a decent media-consumption experience. And reverse charging? That means the Pad Lite 8″ can act as a power bank for your smaller gadgets. Anyhow, we’ll update this article with the full specs as soon as they’re announced. Just don’t expect the tablet to set any performance records.
