Get ready, mobile gamers! TECNO Mobile Philippines has (finally) confirmed the local launch of the TECNO POVA 7 Ultra 5G, the latest and most powerful addition to its mainstream POVA 7 series.

Mark your calendars for August 8, as this device is set to make its debut on the Philippine market.

The announcement, which dropped on TECNO’s official social media channels, heavily emphasizes the phone’s gaming prowess. And for good reason: The POVA 7 Ultra 5G flexes a MediaTek Dimensity 8350 Ultimate chipset, a silicon that the brand claims can hit a staggering Antutu Benchmark score exceeding 1.53 million. That’s a serious number for serious mobile-gaming chops.

If that chip sounds familiar, it should. We’ve seen the Dimensity 8350 Ultimate in action before. Just last month, the Infinix GT 30 Pro hit Philippine shores sporting the exact same processor. Even the OPPO Reno14 5G, which debuted in China back in May, packs a similar Dimensity 8350. Granted, the “Ultimate” variant here is custom-built for TECNO.

The Reno14 5G’s predecessor, the OPPO Reno13 5G, also leveraged this particular MediaTek chip. Having spent time with devices powered by this silicon, we can confidently say it handles demanding games at their highest settings and frame rates — even pushing 120 FPS in titles like Mobile Legends: Bang Bang and PUBG Mobile. And to keep all that power in check, the company has outfitted the TECNO POVA 7 Ultra 5G with a 12-layer cooling architecture.

Launch date confirmed!

Elsewhere, the smartphone boasts a pretty impressive spec sheet. Expect a 6.78-inch AMOLED display with a crisp 1.5K resolution, a blazing-fast 144Hz max refresh rate, and a peak brightness of 4,500 nits. Fueling the experience is a robust 6,000mAh battery, complemented by 70-watt wired charging for fast top-ups and 30-watt wireless charging for added convenience.

For optics, the TECNO POVA 7 Ultra 5G sports a 108-megapixel main shooter paired with an 8-megapixel ultrawide lens, while a 13-megapixel front-facing camera handles your video calls and selfies. The rear camera island itself is designed to turn heads, featuring eye-catching LED lighting and a geometric pattern.

TECNO is also pushing a revamped software experience with HiOS 15, based on Android 15. As expected, the brand is leaning heavily into AI integration as well, introducing features like an AI Anywhere Portal for quick tool access, Ask Ella for smart assistance, an AI Full-Link Call Assistant for real-time translation and noise cancellation, and AI Writing for text generation and proofreading. There’s also Google’s Circle to Search feature, allowing you to instantly search anything on screen, while AI Studio offers creative image-editing tools such as AIGC Portrait 2.0 and AI Eraser.

While local pricing for the Philippines is still under wraps, reports suggest TECNO is targeting a $230 price point for the POVA 7 Ultra 5G. That translates to roughly P13,194 in local currency.
