It’s official: The HUAWEI Pura 80 Series has officially landed in the Philippines, following a series of local preview events at select retailers across the country.

We’ve been tracking this launch ever since HUAWEI wrapped up its “Fashion Next” Asia-Pacific launch event in Bangkok, Thailand, which we at Revü attended. And while we previously reported that the Ultra and Pro models were on their way, we can now confirm the local pricing and tempting preorder deals.

Philippine pricing and preorder offers

The HUAWEI Pura 80 Ultra will set you back P89,999 (around $1,576 converted), a price tag that includes a generous 16GB of physical RAM and 512GB of internal storage. It’s available in Prestige Gold and Golden Black colorways. Stepping down to the HUAWEI Pura 80 Pro, you’ll find a more accessible P59,999 ($1,051) price for the 12GB/512GB configuration, with color options in Glazed Red, Glazed White, and Glazed Black.

Those who preorder from the technology giant’s official online store get a lot of bang for their buck. Beyond standard discounts and vouchers, you’ll receive a free one-year HUAWEI Care+ warranty (worth up to P7,199 or $126) as well as priority shipping. Opt for the top-of-the-line Pura 80 Ultra, and HUAWEI throws in even more goodies — the 46mm (read: bigger) version of HUAWEI Watch GT 5 smartwatch and a pair of HUAWEI FreeClip wireless earbuds, valued at a combined P22,998 ($403). The Pura 80 Pro still gets a great deal, netting you the Watch GT 5 as a freebie.

But what about the base model? The HUAWEI Pura 80 is scheduled for a later release in the Philippines, though it’s already listed on the company’s online store in Frosted Gold, Frosted White, and Frosted Black.

The camera (as usual) is the main event

As with most HUAWEI flagships, the cameras are the main story here. The Pura 80 Ultra stands out with an industry-first switchable dual-telephoto system. Instead of crowding the smartphone with multiple discrete lenses, HUAWEI engineered an incredibly intricate moving-prism mechanism. This allows two different telephoto lenses — offering 3.7x and 9.4x optical zoom — to share a single, generously sized 1/1.28-inch sensor. It’s a bold and innovative move, and our time with the Ultra suggests the results are indeed promising.

Low light? Subject too far? Trust the HUAWEI Pura 80 Ultra to get things right

The HUAWEI Pura 80 Ultra’s camera innovations don’t stop there. It also features a 1-inch main sensor with a variable aperture (f/1.6-4.0) designed for better image quality, particularly in low light. The brand claims a staggering 16 stops of dynamic range for its most premium model, which, if accurate, would be a new benchmark for smartphone photography. The HUAWEI Pura 80 Pro isn’t far behind, inheriting the same impressive 1-inch sensor and adding an Ultra Lighting Macro Telephoto Camera for those razor-sharp, detailed closeups.

For those who want a powerful but more compact device, the standard HUAWEI Pura 80 still looks like a compelling option. It packs a 6.6-inch flat LTPO OLED display with an adaptive 1-120Hz refresh rate, and a pretty substantial 5,170mAh battery that supports 66-watt wired and 50-watt wireless charging. Its camera system is no slouch either, featuring a 50-megapixel main camera with a variable f/1.4-4.0 aperture, a 13-megapixel ultrawide, and a 12-megapixel periscope telephoto lens offering up to 5x optical zoom.
