Xiaomi‘s new budget contender, the Redmi 15 5G, is officially in Southeast Asia, and it’s packing a feature that’s hard to ignore: a huge 7,000mAh battery. The phone has made its way to Malaysia and Singapore after its release in Europe alongside the Redmi 15 4G and Redmi 15C. While we’re still waiting on official word from Xiaomi Philippines, the regional rollout suggests it won’t be long until it lands on local shores.
The 7,000mAh battery is Xiaomi’s largest ever, and it promises to change how you think about charging. The company claims it’s good for up to two full days of use, and with features like Battery Health 4.0 and Smart Charging Engine 2.0, that longevity is designed to last. Even when the battery is critically low, it can still manage a surprising amount of standby time or a last-minute phone call. And when it finally runs out, the included 33-watt fast charging gets you back in action quickly. Plus, with 18-watt reverse wired charging, you can use the Redmi 15 5G to top up your other gadgets.
Beyond the battery, the smartphone offers a solid package for its price. It features a massive 6.9-inch FHD+ display with a 144Hz refresh rate, a spec you typically find on more expensive handsets. The screen also has a handy Wet Touch Technology 2.0, so you won’t have to worry about unresponsive swipes if your fingers are a little damp.

Powering the Redmi 15 5G is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 6s Gen 3 chipset, which is a budget-friendly 5G-capable processor. It comes with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. You also get a microSD card slot for up to 2TB of expandable storage — a feature that’s becoming increasingly rare.
For photography, the Redmi 15 5G sports a 50-megapixel AI dual-camera system on the back and an 8-megapixel front camera. While we don’t have all the details on the secondary rear lens, the main sensor is expected to deliver capable shots, especially with the AI-powered tools like AI Erase and Dynamic shots built into the Xiaomi HyperOS 2.
The Redmi 15 5G is now available in Malaysia for RM729 (roughly P9,836 or $172) and in Singapore for S$249 (P11,048 or $194). It comes in three color options: Ripple Green, Titan Gray, and Midnight Black. This is a competitive price for a phone with this feature set, and it puts it in a good position to challenge other entry-level and midrange devices in the region.
