Xiaomi sub-brand Redmi has a reputation for stuffing its midrange phones with features that feel anything but midrange, and its new Note 15 series, just launched in China, is leaning hard into that legacy. The new lineup — featuring the Redmi Note 15, Redmi Note 15 Pro, and the top-tier Redmi Note 15 Pro Plus — is making a serious play for the durability and battery life crowns while debuting a brand-new Qualcomm chip.
The real headliners here, of course, are the Pro models. Both 5G smartphones are built around the same massive foundation: a 6.83-inch AMOLED display with a 1.5K resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate, and a high peak brightness of 3,200 nits.
The devices are clearly built for longevity, each packing a large 7,000mAh battery, an endurance feat designed to push well past two days of use for even heavy users. When you do need to top up, the charging speeds differ: The Redmi Note 15 Pro Plus gets 90-watt wired charging, while the Redmi Note 15 Pro settles for a still-respectable 45 watts. The two also support 22.5-watt wireless charging.
Redmi is talking a big game on toughness as well. Forget just surviving a dunk in the pool; both Pro models boast a long list of dust- and water-resistance ratings: IP66, IP68, IP69, and IP69K. That top-end IP69K rating means they are designed to withstand high-pressure, high-temperature water jets — a level of durability you’d typically find on specialized rugged phones, not mainstream midrangers.

Highlights
Where they diverge is the processor and camera setup.
- Redmi Note 15 Pro Plus. This is the hero device, and it’s the first smartphone to run on the new 4nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 5G chipset, paired with an Adreno 810 GPU. It also gets the best camera system of the bunch: a triple-camera array featuring a 50-megapixel main sensor, a 50-megapixel telephoto lens with 2.5x optical zoom, and an 8-megapixel ultrawide. The front gets a 32-megapixel selfie camera.
- Redmi Note 15 Pro: This model, meanwhile, opts for a 4nm MediaTek Dimensity 7400-Ultra 5G processor. Its camera system is a dual setup with a 50-megapixel main sensor and an 8-megapixel ultrawide, foregoing the telephoto lens of its Plus sibling. The front-facing camera is a 20-megapixel sensor.
Don’t want to go Pro? The standard Redmi Note 15 looks like a compelling option that doesn’t skimp on the essentials. It sports a slightly smaller 6.77-inch curved AMOLED display with an FHD+ resolution, but crucially, it keeps the 120Hz refresh rate and the same 3,200 nits of peak brightness as its pricier siblings.
It’s powered by the new 4nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 5G SoC, which should provide more than enough power for everyday tasks and gaming. The battery is still huge at 5,800mAh and supports 45-watt wired charging. For durability, it carries an IP66 rating, which protects it against powerful water jets, though not full submersion. The Redmi Note 15’s camera setup includes a 50-megapixel main sensor and a 2-megapixel depth sensor for portrait shots, with an 8-megapixel camera on the front.
All three phones in the series run on Xiaomi HyperOS 2.0, based on Android 15, and feature an under-display fingerprint reader.
So, how much are they? In China, the latest Notes are priced as follows:
- Redmi Note 15: From ¥999 (roughly P7,952 or $139)
- Redmi Note 15 Pro: From ¥1,499 (P11,192 or $209)
- Redmi Note 15 Pro Plus: From ¥1,999 (P15,885 or $278)
- Redmi Note 15 Pro Plus Satellite Edition: ¥2,499 (P19,858 or $348)
There’s no word yet on if or when these handsets will make their way to the global market, including the Philippines, but we’ll let you know as soon as we get an update from the company.
