Remember the vivo V60 that debuted in India a week ago? The smartphone that’s built like a tank but looks like a fashion accessory? Well, vivo has officially announced that it’s coming to the Philippines.
Starting September 3, the vivo V60 will be available for preorder in the country — priced at P28,999 (roughly $509) for the 12GB RAM/512GB storage model, and P26,999 ($474) for 12GB RAM and 256GB storage, we at Revü have learned. Customers who pre-purchase by September 12 will receive the following: free vivo Buds worth P1,699 ($30), a free vivo VIP card, and a P2,000 ($35) discount. Zero-percent installment plans will be available via Home Credit and select credit cards.
What do you get for the price? Seems a lot, actually. The vivo V60’s spec sheet reads like a wishlist for a midrange powerhouse. The phone packs a Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 processor, a 6,500mAh battery with 90-watt fast charging, and a 6.77-inch quad-curved AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate.
The vivo V60 in Berry Purple
Unsurprisingly, the highlight here is the cameras. vivo’s partnership with ZEISS is front and center. The V60 sports a triple-camera system on the back, highlighted by a 50-megapixel telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom. That’s a feature you’d typically only find in much more expensive devices. It also has a 50-megapixel main sensor and an 8-megapixel ultrawide, so you’re covered for pretty much any shot. And for all you selfie addicts out there, the 50-megapixel front camera should keep you happy.
Beyond the numbers, the vivo V60 leans into two things: durability and AI. The company is touting its Diamond Shield Glass, claiming it makes the unit 37% more drop-resistant than previous V series models. It also comes with IP68 and IP69 ratings, meaning it’s highly resistant to water and even high-pressure, high-temperature water jets. So if you’re the type of person who’s a little clumsy, this phone might just be your new best friend.
On the software side, the V60 comes with Google Gemini preinstalled, with features integrated directly into the user experience, from real-time translations to AI-powered photo editing. It also promises four years of OS updates and six years of security updates — a big deal for a device in this segment, don’t you think?
