Just a day before Apple‘s big event, the latest leak has given us a clear look at what could be the battery capacities for the entire iPhone 17 series. And — surprise, surprise! — it looks like every model is getting a bit of a bump.

As we’ve previously reported, Apple is set to officially announce the iPhone 17 series, new Apple Watch models, and possibly the AirPods Pro 3 at its event tomorrow, September 9 at 10 a.m. Pacific Time (or September 10 at 1 a.m. Philippine time).

The new details come from well-known Apple tipster ShrimpApplePro, who shared the rumored battery specs for the iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Air, iPhone 17 Pro, and iPhone 17 Pro Max. The standard iPhone 17 is said to feature a 3,692mAh battery, while the iPhone 17 Air might get a 3,036mAh cell. Stepping up to the Pro models, the iPhone 17 Pro is expected to pack a 3,988mAh unit, and the top-end iPhone 17 Pro Max could house a 4,832mAh battery.

Alleged battery capacities of the Apple iPhone 17 series

Interestingly, it appears the company is also making use of the space freed up by ditching the physical SIM card tray. The eSIM-only variants of the Apple iPhone 17 Air, iPhone 17 Pro, and iPhone 17 Pro Max are rumored to have even larger batteries — 3,149mAh, 4,252mAh, and 5,088mAh, respectively.

This means the top-of-the-line iPhone 17 model could have the highest battery capacity we’ve ever seen on an iPhone. This is a big deal, considering last year’s iPhone 16 Pro Max was already praised by technology reviewers for having one of the longest-lasting batteries on the market. If this leak is accurate, the upcoming Pro Max could be a beast when it comes to endurance.

And that’s not even counting the power savings from Apple’s new A19 and A19 Pro chipsets, which, as always, are expected to bring faster performance alongside better efficiency numbers. We’ll know soon enough.
