In a move that signals a deeper investment in youth culture and gaming communities, OPPO Philippines has teamed up with Moonton Student Leaders Philippines to supercharge the country’s campus esports scene.

The partnership will roll out a nationwide university roadshow featuring tournaments, technology demos, and hands-on access to the new OPPO Reno14 Series 5G, which is also engineered with gamers in mind.

The Reno14 Series 5G packs features like AI HyperBoost 2.0 for smoother gameplay, LinkBoost 3.0 for stronger campus Wi-Fi connections, and a Nano Dual-Drive Cooling System to keep things chill during marathon matches. It’s a spec sheet that reads like a wishlist for mobile esports athletes, and it’s being delivered directly to the campuses where future pros are grinding.

Beyond the hardware and campus activations, OPPO is embedding itself in a growing culture — one where esports is no longer a side hustle, but a serious career track. According to market research from IMARC Group, Southeast Asia’s esports market reached $71.8 million (roughly P4 billion) in 2024, with projections estimating it will grow to $151.9 million (P8.6 billion) by 2033 at a compound annual growth rate of 7.79%. The Philippines is among the fastest-growing markets in SEA, driven by mobile-first gaming habits and student-led communities — the exact audience OPPO and MSL Philippines are now investing in.

The latter, known for its grassroots tournaments and collegiate talent pipeline, brings credibility and reach to the partnership. With over 180 schools already in its network, the organization has become a launchpad for student gamers aiming to break into pro leagues like MPL (Mobile Legends Professional League) and MDL (Mobile Legends Development League).

In short, OPPO is also looking at shaping a future where Filipino students can game, compete, and create without compromise. And if the roadshow delivers, it might just redefine what it means to be a campus gamer in 2025.

“Filipino students are shaping the future of esports. Our role is to equip them with reliable, high-performance tools so they can play and create at their best,” said OPPO Philippines associate marketing director Joanarc Sales. “Through this partnership with MSL Philippines, we will bring hands-on experiences to campuses and help more young gamers unlock their potential.”
