Xiaomi just threw down the gauntlet in the Philippine budget 5G segment, officially launching the Redmi 15 5G with the company’s largest battery ever.

Released in Ripple Green, Titan Gray, and Midnight Black colors, the smartphone is priced at P7,999 (around $137) for the 4GB/128GB variant and can be purchased directly through Xiaomi’s official online stores.

If you prefer to go the postpaid route, you have two options:

  • Globe Postpaid: Available with Plan 999 and a one-time cash out of only P400 ($7).
  • Smart Postpaid: Also available with Plan 999, starting the second week of October.

The Redmi 15 5G is clearly designed to answer one of the biggest complaints about modern phones: battery anxiety. The massive 7,000mAh “Xiaomi Surge” battery is the undisputed star of the show. Xiaomi claims it’s good for a full 48 hours of power, and it’s engineered for longevity with features like Battery Health 4.0 and Smart Charging Engine 2.0.

If you do finally manage to drain it, the phone supports 33-watt fast charging and, in a particularly useful twist, 18-watt reverse wired charging — meaning the Redmi 15 5G can share its power to top up your other gadgets. Even when critically low at 1%, the device can still squeeze out up to 59 minutes of calling.

Another key highlight here is the large 6.9-inch FHD+ display with a 144Hz refresh rate, a feature typically reserved for pricier handsets. Xiaomi ensures your eyes are taken care of with TÜV Rheinland certifications for Low Blue Light, Flicker-Free, and Circadian Friendly viewing. And for those times you’re scrolling with damp hands, the Wet Touch Technology 2.0 means your screen remains responsive.

Xiaomi is putting its HyperOS 2 at the forefront, baking in useful AI features you’d usually see on flagship devices. The Redmi 15 5G supports Circle to Search and is prepped for Google Gemini integration, ensuring the smartphone isn’t just a piece of hardware but a genuinely smart assistant. These features, combined with Xiaomi Interconnectivity, aim to keep your digital life seamless.

The engine driving the phone is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 6s Gen 3. It’s a budget-friendly 5G processor built on a 6nm process, providing responsive performance and 5G connectivity. While the Philippine launch highlights the 4GB + 128GB configuration, the phone is a powerhouse when it comes to memory, offering up to 16GB of RAM through memory extension and support for up to 2TB of expandable storage.

For photography, the Redmi 15 5G sports a 50-megapixel AI dual-camera system. The experience is enhanced by creative AI tools like AI Erase, AI Sky, and Dynamic shots to give you easy ways to clean up or spice up your images without needing a separate photo editor. For your ears, there’s Hi-Res Audio and Dolby Atmos, complete with a 200% volume boost for an immersive entertainment experience.

Finally, the device maintains a sleek profile with a quad-curved back and metal-crafted detailing. It also comes with an IP64-rating for splash and dust resistance, adding a layer of durability to the design.
