Globe‘s GFiber Prepaid has quietly leveled up. The telecommunications company is now offering blazing-fast speeds of up to 300Mbps, a massive jump that gives it a three-fold advantage over rival Converge’s prepaid fiber service.
We here at Revü caught wind of this new development through a surprise SMS blast sent to us. A quick check of the GlobeOne app confirmed the news: the 300Mbps tier for GFiber Prepaid is indeed live, ready for subscription renewal or activation. Voila!
For now, if you want Globe’s fastest prepaid fiber-internet option, you only have one choice — P1,499 (around $26) for 30 days. Do the math, and that’s approximately P50 ($0.9) per day, which is, as we’re prone to saying, cheaper than your morning coffee fix. While that’s a decent deal for the speed, we were hoping to see more flexible options — perhaps a 15-day or even a weekly plan for users like us who primarily rely on GFiber Prepaid as a critical backup connection.
Naturally, the big question remains: Does it actually hit 300Mbps? We’re keen to try it out once our current subscription is up and report back on the real-world performance. We’re optimistic, given that both the 50Mbps and 100Mbps plans have proven to be reliable and consistent with their advertised speeds in our area.

Keep in mind, however, that the internet experience in the Philippines is heavily dependent on your exact location. Your mileage may vary with GFiber Prepaid, as is the case with virtually every internet service provider operating in the country. It’s also worth noting that this prepaid price is the exact same amount Globe charges for its postpaid GFiber option capped at 300Mbps — P1,499 ($26) for a month.
Hopefully, this is just the start. It would be fantastic to see Globe roll out its top-tier plans — the 500Mbps (P1,999 [$34] postpaid) and the whopping 1Gbps (P2,499 [$43] postpaid) — to prepaid users as well.
