It’s apparently tablet season in the Philippines. We’ve seen a couple of new Android tablets launch on the local market, and now, it’s Xiaomi‘s turn under the spotlight.
The company has officially launched the REDMI Pad 2 Pro Series in the Philippines, and it looks like a serious contender for those who treat their tablets like an entertainment-focused device, as many of us do. That said, Xiaomi is positioning the lineup, comprising the REDMI Pad 2 Pro (read: Wi-Fi model) and REDMI Pad 2 Pro 5G, as the “ultimate large-display tablet for pro-level entertainment.”
Both devices will be available for purchase starting November 7 on Xiaomi’s official Lazada and Shopee stores, as well as at authorized retailers nationwide. The REDMI Pad 2 Pro with 8GB of physical RAM and 256GB of internal storage is priced at P17,599 (around $299 converted), while the 5G variant with the same configuration costs P19,999 ($339). To sweeten the deal, the latter will be bundled with a free keyboard case until November 20, making the cellular model an even more enticing option, especially if you plan to do any heavy typing or get some work done.
Specs-wise, the two tablets are essentially twins. The only major difference? The pricier 5G version supports cellular connectivity via eSIM and packs a slightly sharper 13-megapixel rear camera. Elsewhere, they’re identical. They have a 12.1-inch 2.5K display operating at up to 120Hz; a quad-speaker system featuring Dolby Atmos; and a microSD slot that lets you expand the storage up to a massive 2TB, so you’ll never have to worry about deleting precious memories or projects to make space for new files.
REDMI Pad 2 Pro is designed to handle work, play, and everything in between without compromise.

Redmi Pad 2 Pro official unboxing video
Under the hood, the REDMI Pad 2 Pro Series is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 chipset. Built on an efficient 4nm process, this should provide optimized performance, especially for those demanding apps and multitasking on the large screen. You’re also looking at a sizable 12,000mAh battery, which is actually one of Xiaomi’s largest tablet batteries globally. When it’s time to juice up, 33-watt fast charging gets you back in the action quickly. The lineup even supports 27-watt wired reverse charging, essentially turning it into a huge power bank for your other devices on the go.
The REDMI Pad 2 Pro and REDMI Pad 2 Pro 5G ship with Xiaomi HyperOS, which offers several interconnectivity features if you’re already in the Xiaomi ecosystem. We’re talking functions like Call sync, Shared clipboard, Network sync, and Home Screen Plus, letting you access and operate phone apps and files directly from the device. Plus, the Cross-device cameras feature is pretty slick, letting you use your phone’s camera for flexible video calls on your tablet. The brand also made sure to include AI in the software, with features like Google Gemini and Circle to Search with Google to make your life easier.
