HONOR is rumored to launch the HONOR 500 series smartphones before the year is out. And while the brand has yet to make an official announcement, the leaks are already coming in hot.
We’ve moved past grainy renders and whispers — we’re now seeing actual photos and, more importantly, a spec sheet from China that looks very promising.
According to reliable tipster Digital Chat Station, the top-end HONOR 500 Pro won’t use just any chip. It’s rumored to pack the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite, a processor we’ve seen power some of last year’s heaviest hitters. The standard Honor 500 is no slouch, either, tipped to run on the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4. This is a serious jump in performance.
For context, the HONOR 400 debuted in June in the Philippines with the Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 on board, while the HONOR 400 Pro that launched here in August ran the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. So the company is clearly pushing its silicon game hard for this generation.
But let’s get to that battery, because it’s the elephant in the room. Both the HONOR 500 and HONOR 500 Pro are said to feature a massive 8,000mAh battery. That’s not a typo. Most flagships today are happy if they can fit 5,000mAh in the chassis. When you finally manage to kill it, the leak claims 80-watt wired fast charging for both, with the Pro also getting a fast 50-watt wireless option.
The camera setups sound impressive as well. The standard model is tipped for a dual-camera system with a 200-megapixel main shooter and a 50-megapixel ultrawide. The Pro version, naturally, kicks it up a notch by adding a 64-megapixel periscope lens to that 200-megapixel main and 50-megapixel ultrawide combo. We’re curious to see what that 200-megapixel sensor can actually do.

Could this be accurate?
Both phones will apparently share the same screen, too: a 6.55-inch LTPO OLED flat panel. The resolution is a sharp 2,736 x 1,264, and it features a 120Hz refresh rate and a 4,320Hz high-frequency PWM dimming.
The rest of the HONOR 500 and HONOR 500 Pro rumored spec sheet is just as packed. We’re likely looking at dual speakers, an IR blaster, NFC, and a seriously rugged IP68/IP69 dust and water resistance rating. The devices are expected to run MagicOS 10.0, based on Android 16.
This all points to an absolute beast of a smartphone series — and it should be a looker, too. Recent leaks point to a big redesign with flat sides, giving off heavy Google Pixel 10 vibes, albeit in white and a nice pink color.
