Infinix NOTE 60 Ultra to feature design from studio behind most iconic Ferraris

“Premium” is a word that gets thrown around a lot in this industry. But Infinix could take it to the next level, following the announcement of a strategic partnership with Italian design firm Pininfarina for its upcoming flagship smartphone.

If you’re not familiar with the name, this is the legendary design house responsible for the curves of the Ferrari Testarossa and the Alfa Romeo Spider.

Announced during the Business of Design Week 2025 in Hong Kong, this collaboration isn’t just about slapping a logo on a backplate — at least, according to Infinix. The brand is primarily known for dominating the entry-level and midrange markets — and seeing massive growth in the Philippines and Southeast Asia because of it. That said, it doesn’t take a genius to figure out that the company is now gunning for a higher price segment.

“The upcoming ‘Infinix NOTE 60 Ultra designed by Pininfarina’ marks a milestone not only for the studio but for the industry,” Infinix said in a press statement.

The device is scheduled for a 2026 launch. While specs like the chipset and camera sensors remain under wraps, the focus here is clearly on the chassis and the feel of the unit. Pininfarina brand senior vice president Fabio Calorio noted that the goal is to apply their principles of beauty and performance to impact the user experience directly.

Infinix and Pininfarina’s announcement

Now, this isn’t Infinix’s first time flirting with automotive royalty. It previously collaborated with BMW’s DesignWorks for the Infinix Note 30 VIP Racing Edition and Infinix Note 40 series, which featured motorsport-inspired aesthetics.

However, the Pininfarina partnership feels different. It suggests a move away from “racy” gamer aesthetics toward something more sophisticated and timeless. Not to mention, the collaboration will mark the debut of the first Ultra-branded model in the Note lineup.

“As we collaborate with leading partners across different fields, we are steadily advancing Infinix’s journey toward premiumization,” said Infinix chief operating officer Tony Zhao.

We’re still waiting on the gritty details — the specs, pricing, and availability, to name a few — but for now, Infinix certainly has our attention.
