If you’ve been watching PC and PlayStation 5 streamers play Where Winds Meet with a bit of envy, don’t fret; your turn is finally coming.

Developer Everstone Studio has confirmed that its massive free-to-play, open-world Wuxia RPG is officially launching on iOS and Android devices on December 12, 2025. Where Winds Meet is currently available for pre-registration on the App Store and Google Play Store.

The announcement arrived with a new release date trailer that gives us a glimpse of how this expansive world translates to the small screen. The footage teases the same fluid combat and intricate environments that have reportedly attracted over 9 million players on other platforms in just the last two weeks.

What sets Where Winds Meet apart is its deep commitment to the Wuxia fantasy, a genre of Chinese fiction featuring the adventures of martial artists in ancient China. Set during the turbulent Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms period of 10th-century China, the game casts you as a young sword master on a quest to uncover forgotten truths about your identity.

Based on the trailers and gameplay footage, this doesn’t look like your standard linear history lesson. You get to call the shots on the kind of legend you become. Want to walk the noble path? Go for it. Feel like becoming an agent of chaos? That’s an option, too. But keep in mind that your choices have consequences. Defying the law means dealing with bounties and serving actual jail time, while helping out villagers can earn you powerful alliances.

The combat system appears just as flexible as the moral choices. Players can build loadouts that favor melee brawls, ranged strikes, or stealthy approaches. The arsenal goes beyond the standard sword and spear, letting you wield dual blades, a glaive, or even more eccentric Wuxia staples like a fan or an umbrella. You can switch between these weapons on the fly and even combine any two martial-arts styles to create unique ones.

The game promises a massive playground with over 20 distinct regions, taking you from the bustling streets of the imperial capital all the way to forgotten tombs. Navigating that map looks like a blast, too. You’ve got a mount system for the long hauls, plus free-running mechanics that let you scale rooftops and glide through the air. Of course, if you’re really in a rush, you can just stick to good old fast travel.

And for those who want a break from the violence, there are grounded side activities like collecting resources, taming horses, and completing daily and weekly tasks for rewards.

Content-wise, the developers are promising a staggering 150 hours of narrative-driven solo gameplay. However, you don’t have to go it alone. The mobile version supports seamless co-op for up to four friends, along with broader multiplayer features like Guild wars, raids, and competitive duels in a shared world populated by other adventurers.

Best of all for multiplatform households, the mobile launch will feature full cross-play and cross-progression. That means you can start your journey on your PC or console and pick up right where you left off on your phone.

Where Winds Meet iOS and Android requirements

One major detail missing from the official announcement, however, is the specific system requirements for Android devices. That said, you should probably expect this app to hit harder than your average AAA title. According to Steam, the PC version requires a minimum of 16GB of RAM and a GTX 1060 graphics card just to get in the door. If those desktop specs are anything to go by, mobile players will likely need a modern flagship or a very capable midrange device to run the game smoothly.

It has been speculated that you’ll need at least a Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G or MediaTek Dimensity 1000L-powered device to run the game at the lowest settings, while a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 or Dimensity 9200 will likely be needed for smooth gameplay.

For Apple users, you’ll need to be running iOS 15.0 (or iPadOS 15.0) or later to jump in. The App Store lists the initial download at 3.7GB, but don’t let that fool you. Considering the PC version eats up at least 100GB, that mobile file size is almost certainly just the launcher, so make sure you have plenty of extra space ready for the full Where Winds Meet download.
