If you were wondering whether the HONOR X9d 5G would land with a bang or a whimper, we now have a definitive answer. HONOR Philippines has confirmed that demand for the device has officially hit an “all-time high” nationwide during its preorder period, describing the current market response as a legitimate “craze.”
It is not often a midrange smartphone causes this much noise. But then again, the HONOR X9d 5G isn’t exactly a standard midrange release.
It’s hard to pinpoint exactly what triggered this frenzy. It could be the aggressive marketing stunts. It might be the fact that this model essentially solves battery anxiety for good. Or it could be the small matter of a raffle promo that gives buyers a shot at winning a Tesla Cybertruck worth P17 million (roughly $286,790).
Whatever the catalyst, the numbers are apparently exceeding internal expectations.
“We must admit that we were unsure whether the HONOR X9d 5G could live up to the success of its franchise, but seeing the reception and the overwhelming preorder turnout, we cannot thank our HONOR fans enough,” said HONOR Philippines Vice President Stephen Cheng. He noted that the demand has been fervent enough that stock is moving in bulk; one customer alone reportedly preordered 50 units.
A battery that actually lasts
While the Tesla Cybertruck makes for a great headline, the hardware itself makes a compelling case for being the real MVP here.
As we noted in our full review, the HONOR X9d 5G is an endurance monster. It packs a silicon-carbon 8,300mAh battery — the largest capacity currently available in the local market. The company claims this translates to three days of use, or up to 52.5 hours of music streaming on a single charge.
The phone is also built to survive the clumsy among us. It features multipoint temperature monitoring that allows it to perform well in conditions ranging from -30°C to 55°C. It is a device designed to be abused, whether by harsh weather or just the daily grind.

For those who prefer installments, Home Credit is offering a deal that brings the cost down to as low as P24 ($0.40) per day, with payment terms up to 18 months. That promo runs a bit longer, stretching until Feb. 15, 2026.
The HONOR X9d 5G was already looking like a solid contender in the midrange space. But with these preorder numbers, it’s looking less like a standard release and more like a verified hit.
