TECNO just made a big move in the smartphone endurance race. The newly announced TECNO POVA Curve 2 5G manages to fit a huge 8,000mAh battery inside a 7.42mm chassis.
Typically, phones packing batteries of this size are rugged, bulky devices that weigh down your pocket. Fitting this kind of capacity into a sub-7.5mm profile that weighs just 195 grams is no small feat. In fact, the brand claims this makes the TECNO POVA Curve 2 5G one of the slimmest smartphones in its segment to pack an 8,000mAh cell. It offers a solid middle ground for power users who want days of battery life without the added bulk.
Up front, the device features a 6.78-inch FHD+ curved AMOLED display. It refreshes at 144Hz, which is great for mobile gamers who need fluid frame rates and anyone who appreciates fast UI scrolling. Tucked under that screen is an in-display fingerprint sensor, while the panel itself is shielded by Corning Gorilla Glass 7i. The handset also carries an IP64 rating for dust and water resistance, along with SGS-certified drop protection.
The TECNO POVA Curve 2 5G is powered by a 6nm MediaTek Dimensity 7100 5G chipset, the same processor that debuted on the Infinix NOTE Edge we’re currently reviewing. It pairs that silicon with up to 12GB of RAM and up to 256GB of internal storage. When that 8,000mAh battery finally runs low, the included 45-watt fast charging gets you back on the grid. Gamers will also appreciate the bypass charging technology, which routes power directly to the motherboard to keep temperatures down during plugged-in sessions.

This is the newly launched TECNO POVA Curve 2 5G
For optics, the rear camera setup includes a 50-megapixel main shooter alongside a 2-megapixel depth sensor, while a 13-megapixel front camera handles selfies and video calls.
On the software side, the POVA Curve 2 5G runs HiOS 16 based on Android 16, with TECNO promising two major Android OS upgrades to keep the system current. It includes AI tools like FlashMemo for instant screen capturing, call noise reduction, and the voice-activated Ella Assistant. For completely off-grid moments, the smartphone even supports offline voice and text communication up to 1.5 kilometers away in open areas.
The TECNO POVA Curve 2 5G will be available in Neon Cyan, Magic Silver, and Geek Black. It is scheduled to launch in India later this February before being showcased at MWC 2026. We at REVU will be on the ground in Barcelona, Spain, for the annual technology event, so expect more updates to hit the site soon.
As for its local release, official Philippine pricing and broader availability details should follow shortly. For context, the original POVA Curve debuted in the Philippines in August 2025 priced at ₱10,999 (around $194) for the 8GB/256GB variant. Interestingly, that predecessor was actually slightly thicker at 7.45mm while only housing a much smaller 5,500mAh battery.
