Besides staying home (if you could, of course) and practicing social distance, donating is one of the best ways to help out while the COVID-19 pandemic is devastating the Philippines and most other parts of the world.

PayMaya, one of the country’s leading cashless-payment platforms, is offering the option to make donations online with just a few taps on your Android or iOS device. Naturally, this entails having an active PayMaya account. But if you don’t have one yet, setting up one is easy and, best of all, free of charge. You don’t even have to get out of bed to create an account.

Now, if you’re already a PayMaya user, you can follow these simple instructions to donate to an organization of your choice:

  1. Open the PayMaya app and log in with your credentials.
  2. Click the “Donate Now” banner under the list of available transactions for your account. You can also tap the Pay Bills button in the app.
  3. Regardless of which option you choose, you’ll be taken to a new screen showing the list of PayMaya partners under its #OneAgainstCOVID19 initiative.
  4. These partners act as merchants with items you can add to your cart after selecting a specific package and quantity for your donation.
  5. Once you’re done adding to your cart, simply complete the checkout process. You will be notified once the transaction has been confirmed.

That’s it! You can donate as many times as you’d like, and you can use your BPI bank account or debit or credit card to add more money to your PayMaya account. Alternatively, you can top up your account through any of the platform’s Add Money partners, which includes 7-Eleven, Bayad Center, Western Union, InstaPay, Smart stores, and many more.

As of this week, PayMaya has raised more than P15 million (or approximately $297,251 converted) in total donations across all of its platforms on behalf of its partner organizations. All donations will be remitted to these groups.
