realme recently announced a slightly more affordable follow-up to one of its best-selling devices in the Philippines.

(Update, January 14: There’s now a more affordable version of the realme Note 60x!)

The new realme Note 60x brings a slightly lower price tag and keeps some of the key features of its stablemate — the realme Note 60 — the technology brand launched in September, but trims the price, the megapixels on the rear camera, and a bit of the durability.

Locally, the realme Note 60x carries a price tag of P4,799, or roughly $82, for the variant with 4GB of physical RAM and 64GB of internal storage. It’s available in two colors, Wilderness Green and Marble Black. Early adopters can get the phone at a more attractive P3,629 ($62) if they shop on the company’s official TikTok page.

That’s not bad for a handset that rocks a sizable display and battery. For reference, the realme Note 60 was priced at P4,999 ($86) at launch for the base 4GB/64GB model.

Like the Note 60 before it, the realme Note 60x has been described as a smartphone that’s built to last, offering an IP54 dust- and water-resistance rating and ArmorShell Protection, which “combines eight types of safety protection, utilizing a range of protective materials from metal to foam to silicone.”

Under the hood, the device packs a Unisoc T612 chipset with Mali-G57 graphics and a 5,000mAh battery pack that’s rated with a three-year lifespan. It also supports 10-watt USB-C charging out of the box.

Up front, you’re looking at a 6.74-inch IPS LCD screen with HD+ resolution and a 90Hz refresh rate. For taking pictures, you get an 8-megapixel main rear camera and a 5-megapixel shooter for selfies and video calls. The Note 60x also ships with realme’s Android 14-based custom interface.

On paper, the realme Note 60x is a compelling option for budget-conscious consumers who prioritize a long-lasting battery and a large display. While it may not be the most powerful phone on the block, its competitive pricing and decent feature set make it a worthy contender in the ever-crowded budget arena.
