The company is officially bringing its latest foldable, the Huawei Mate X6, to the Philippines later this month. As expected, this new device screams “future” from every angle. Watch the video below to find out what we think, and whether or not it deserves to be included in your shortlist of flagship devices to consider in 2025.

Our Huawei Mate X6 video. Those in the Philippines can preorder the foldable smartphone on any of these platforms: Huawei Online Store, Lazada, and Shopee

Spoiler alert: It is an impressive piece of tech, boasting an Ultra Chroma sensor for lifelike images and the world’s first adjustable aperture lens on a folding phone.

The Huawei Mate X6 is remarkably thin and lightweight, measuring just 4.6mm unfolded and 9.85mm folded. Despite this, it’s built to last. The screen is protected by 2nd Gen Kunlun Glass for exceptional drop protection. A carbon fiber inner-screen plate, aviation-grade aluminum middle frame, and ultrahigh-strength steel hinge further enhance its durability.

Huawei has also addressed the issue of water resistance with the Mate X6, which boasts an IPX8 rating. This means the device can be submerged in up to 2 meters of water for 30 minutes, making it one of the most water-resistant foldable phones available.

Thinking of getting a Huawei Mate X6 in the Philippines? Preorders are open right now on Lazada, Shopee, and the brand’s own online store, with official sales kicking off on January 17. Here’s the kicker: Early birds get a mystery gift bundle worth a whopping P23,798 (around $407). We’re potentially looking at a smartwatch and a tablet.

One thing is for sure: Huawei seems set on solving most of the common pain points associated with foldables right now. With the Mate X6, the company has focused on key areas such as durability, user experience, and camera performance. This is a significant step forward in the evolution of foldable devices, and it will be interesting to see how the market responds to Huawei’s latest flagship offering.
