In an age where everyone with a smartphone is a potential storyteller, the journey from casual clip to polished content often hits a wall of shaky footage and muffled audio. But for mobile videographers and aspiring content creators across the Philippines, that barrier just got a little lower.

Insta360 has officially brought its latest dynamic duo to local shores: the Insta360 Flow 2, a redesigned and smarter evolution of its beloved smartphone gimbal, and the compact Insta360 Mic Air wireless microphone. This tandem arrives poised to transform everyday captures into smooth, professional-quality narratives, making high-end mobile filmmaking more accessible and effortless.

Your pocket-sized storyteller

Available in Summit White or Stone Gray, the company’s latest smartphone gimbal is being positioned as a more accessible and feature-rich evolution of its popular Flow series, designed to help anyone with a handset tell his or her story with a touch of professional polish.

For those keeping an eye on the latest gear, you might recall that the more premium Insta360 Flow 2 Pro version made its debut in January 2025. Now, the standard Flow 2 joins it, hitting a sweet spot between capability and price. Starting at just P5,490 (roughly $97) for the Standard Bundle, it aims to democratize smooth, AI-powered smartphone videography. If you’re keen on slightly more advanced AI tracking, the Flow 2 AI Tracker Bundle is also available for P6,590 ($116). You can find them through the brand’s official e-commerce channels, including Shopee, Lazada, and TikTok Shop. This positions it as a more affordable alternative.

For those of us who regularly dive into the world of action cameras and gimbals, Insta360 is a familiar name. We at revu.com.ph, for instance, took the Insta360 X5 for a spin back in April, so we’re no strangers to the company’s commitment to pushing the boundaries of mobile and action videography.

The Insta360 Flow 2 arrives with a host of features that aim to simplify the filming process without sacrificing quality. Like its Pro sibling, it features a built-in extending selfie stick, a set of short metal tripod legs for standing on its own, and promises up to 10 hours of use from its 1,100mAh battery. It boasts robust 3-axis stabilization to keep your footage buttery smooth, and a clever NFC One-Tap Shooting system that lets you jump straight into the Insta360 app without fiddling with Bluetooth pairing. Android users even get a Quick Launch option that automatically opens their native camera when the gimbal unfolds.

At its core, the Flow 2 leverages Insta360’s Deep Track 4.0, an AI-powered tracking system that’s smarter than ever. It boasts significant improvements in identifying subjects, even when they’re briefly obscured, and offers enhanced group tracking capabilities. This means less worrying about someone drifting out of frame during a dynamic shot. The Pro Framing Grid, which uses the golden ratio, provides nine angle presets to help you achieve aesthetically pleasing compositions with a simple tap. And for those times you need to be in the shot yourself, you can remotely control the Flow 2 via your Apple Watch or a second smartphone. A built-in spotlight also ensures you look your best, even in low-light conditions.

While the Insta360 Flow 2 offers immense value, just take note of the distinctions from its Pro sibling, the Flow 2 Pro, which offers additional hardware and design enhancements. The latter, for example, includes a Selfie Mirror, a Tracking Ring Light, a Transparent Motor Design, Apple DockKit Native Tracking, and true 360 Infinite Pan Tracking, alongside a Free Tilt mode for more complex shots. So, while the Flow 2 offers an excellent balance for everyday creators, the Flow 2 Pro remains an option for those of you who demand a more advanced mobile gimbal experience.

Tiny tag-along for pro audio

Further enhancing the content-creation experience, Insta360 also launched the Insta360 Mic Air alongside the Flow 2. This hands-free wireless microphone is compact, looking comparable in size to an Apple AirTag and weighing in at just 7.9 grams, making it one of the lightest wireless mics available. It’s designed for flexible wear, clipping to clothing, using a magnetic backing, or hanging from a pendant strap.

For solo creators, the Mic Air even sports its own button controls for activating noise canceling, starting or stopping video recording, and quick muting, while its USB-C receiver includes volume controls. Insta360 claims it offers up to 10 hours of use on a single charge and a range of up to 300 meters when connected to its optional wireless receiver in optimal conditions.

Perfect companion? This is the Insta360 Mic Air

While it can connect directly to some Insta360 cameras like the Ace Pro 2 and X5 over Bluetooth, smartphone connectivity requires the USB-C wireless receiver, which might mean an adapter for older iPhones. This mic pairs seamlessly with the Flow 2’s capabilities, allowing creators to use the app’s built-in Teleprompter to scroll scripts on-screen while recording. There’s also AI Tracker support for third-party apps, bringing subject tracking to platforms that might not natively offer it. And when the day’s shooting is done, the AI Editing Suite promises to streamline the post-production process with auto-trimming and polishing.

In the Philippines, the Insta360 Mic Air is priced at P3,390 ($60). Get the bundle with the USB-C wireless receiver, and you need to shell out P4,690 ($83).
