Remember the OPPO K13 Turbo, potentially the brand’s first device to rock a built-in cooling fan, we wrote about earlier? Well, mark your calendars.
The brand is officially launching the OPPO K13 Turbo on July 21 in China, debuting it alongside its more souped-up sibling, the OPPO K13 Turbo Pro. And if you thought that was cool, it gets even better. The company has dropped some teasers for the series — and it’s clear OPPO’s banking big on that active fan inside.
You can catch the impressive airflow in action by watching the teaser video below. What’s particularly noteworthy is that both the K13 Turbo and K13 Turbo Pro are scheduled to arrive with IPX6, IPX8, and IPX9 certifications for water resistance. That’s a significant engineering achievement, especially when you factor in the intricate design of their internal cooling systems.

Here’s another one
The brand claims that the new fan design isn’t just a gimmick. It has advertised a staggering 300% boost in cooling efficiency compared to conventional mobile fans. Furthermore, it supposedly slashes space usage by 70% and ratchets up fan power by 120%.
If you’re not familiar, built-in fans should help smartphones stay cool under pressure. Think about it: When your unit is running a super intense game or editing a video, its processor gets hot. And when it gets too hot, the phone automatically slows down to protect itself from overheating, resulting in choppy gameplay and slower performance.
A fan actively blows that heat away. This means your device can keep running at peak performance for longer, giving you smoother gaming, faster apps, and no annoying slowdowns. It also helps keep the smartphone from getting uncomfortably warm in your hand and can even contribute to the handset lasting longer by protecting its internal components from excessive heat.
But the company isn’t stopping there. The OPPO K13 Turbo line will reportedly be available with an optional cooling kit. This accessory package includes a magnetic case featuring customizable backlighting and an external magnetic fan, promising to push the devices’ thermal management to even greater extremes.

The OPPO K13 Turbo and OPPO K13 Turbo Pro will reportedly offer an optional cooling kit
According to OPPO’s product manager for the series, these new devices are engineered to run Honor of Kings at a buttery-smooth average of 120 frames per second, while Game for Peace, essentially PUBG Mobile for the Chinese market, hits an impressive 119 frames per second, all thanks to the active cooling system.
As previously confirmed, the OPPO K13 Turbo is equipped with MediaTek’s Dimensity 8450 chipset, paired with up to 16GB of physical RAM and 256GB or 512GB of internal storage. Stepping up, the OPPO K13 Turbo Pro will feature a more powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 8s Gen 4, also offering the same memory configurations.
Adding to the growing list of rumored features, new reports suggest both phones in the K13 Turbo lineup will pack massive 7,000mAh batteries and sport 50-megapixel main cameras. We also expect in-display fingerprint scanners for convenient unlocking.
While the excitement builds in China, the question remains: Will the OPPO K13 Turbo series make its way to the Philippine and other international markets? We’ll have to wait for the official launch on July 21 for more details.
