Apple has officially unveiled the AirPods Pro 3. They were just one of several new devices announced during the company’s September launch event, which also included the iPhone 17 lineup and latest Watch refresh.
The tech world has been buzzing for a while about what the next-gen earbuds would bring. Would we finally get a new design? A more capable chip? Turns out, some of the rumors were spot-on, while others were… well, wishful thinking. What’s clear is that Apple is making a move to position the AirPods Pro as a central part of your daily life, from your commute to your workout.
Surprisingly, all of this comes without a price hike, as the Apple AirPods Pro 3 will retail for $249 in the United States, the same as the last model. If you live in the Philippines, it’s P14,990.
You’ve gotta hear it to believe it.

Let’s start with what you care about most: the sound. Apple says it has re-engineered the audio from the ground up, and that the new multiport acoustic architecture and next-gen Adaptive EQ deliver a night-and-day difference. The best part? The Active Noise Cancellation is reportedly twice as effective as the previous generation. The earbuds themselves have also been redesigned to be smaller, with improved foam-infused ear tips that come in five different sizes, promising the “best-fitting AirPods ever.”
Perhaps the bigger story here is what these buds can do beyond audio. The standout addition is heart rate monitoring, a technology that’s already in the Beats Powerbeats Pro 2. A custom-built PPG or photoplethysmography sensor tracks your pulse, calories burned, and other metrics for over 50 different workout types in the Fitness app. This means you can finally leave your Apple Watch behind on your next run and still track your workouts without a hitch.

Live translation? Check!
That’s not all. Apple has also brought a live-translation feature to the new AirPods Pro, powered by Apple Intelligence. While it’s not a universal translator from a sci-fi movie just yet, it supports several languages and aims to make face-to-face conversations between people who don’t speak the same language a whole lot easier.
Preorders in the U.S. and 50 other countries and regions are open now, with the release scheduled for September 19. It seems Apple is ready to make a major statement in the audio and health space — and honestly, we’re ready to listen. Maybe it’s time you did, too.
