The race for the top-tier smartphone crown is officially on. MediaTek has just launched its new flagship processor, the Dimensity 9500, and moments later, OPPO has confirmed its new Find X9 Series will be one of the first smartphone lineups to use it.
The upcoming devices, which include the OPPO Find X9 Pro and OPPO Find X9, are scheduled for a China launch on October 16, with a global release to follow. This is a powerful statement from a brand that has been steadily building a reputation for cutting-edge technology and design.
Driving the performance of the Find X9 lineup is the MediaTek Dimensity 9500, a chipset with a revolutionary third-generation All-Big-Core CPU architecture. The processor features one 4.21GHz ultra-core, three premium cores, and four performance cores. OPPO’s press release confirms this design brings a 32% higher single-core performance and a 17% higher multi-core performance compared to the previous generation. Even better, it’s supposedly remarkably efficient, reducing peak power consumption by up to 55%. This is a huge win for battery life, especially when paired with the huge 7,500mAh battery in the Pro and the 7,025mAh battery in the Find X9.

Coming to global markets, too!
Beyond the raw CPU power, the Dimensity 9500 includes the ARM G1-Ultra GPU, which gives the OPPO Find X9 Series a significant boost in graphics performance. We’re talking up to 33% higher performance and 42% better power efficiency — a big deal for gamers. The smartphones will also feature a customized cooling system, ensuring smooth, high-frame-rate gameplay even during intense sessions. The new GPU likewise enables console-grade ray tracing, bringing more realistic lighting and visuals to supported titles.
OPPO is adding its own touch with the Trinity Engine, an “Android’s first Unified Computing Power Model.” It’s a system-level solution that works with the MediaTek Dimensity 9500’s CPU, GPU, and DSU to predict power consumption with more than 90% accuracy. The goal is to optimize energy use across everything you do on your phone.
Camera, software, and everything else
The OPPO Find X9 Series brings significant upgrades to the camera and software experience. The partnership with Hasselblad continues, and leaks suggest the Find X9 Pro could feature a 200-megapixel periscope telephoto camera. This would be a massive leap forward for mobile photography, offering incredible zoom capabilities and detail. The handsets will also have a dedicated physical button to launch AI features, a sign of OPPO’s commitment to making its devices smarter and more intuitive.
The OPPO Find X9 Pro and Find X9 will be the first to launch with Android 16-based ColorOS 16. The new OS, which will be announced a day before the smartphones on October 15 at the OPPO Developers Conference, promises a redesigned interface and new AI features. It will also be available on other devices, including the OnePlus 15 and OPPO Pad 5.

Excited?
While the exact pricing and Philippine availability are yet to be announced, we can look to the previous generation for context. The OPPO Find X8, for instance, had a suggested retail price of P54,999 (roughly $966) for its 12GB RAM and 256GB storage variant. It’s important to note, however, that while the company is scheduled to launch its Dimensity 9500 phones in October, it won’t be the very first. vivo is set to beat them to the punch with the vivo X300 and vivo X300 Pro on October 13.
