The ‘Masterpieces Far Closer’ upgrade
The headline feature for the latest T Series is undoubtedly the enhanced camera system, co-engineered with Leica. The tagline “Masterpieces far closer” isn’t just a catchy phrase; it’s a direct nod to the impressive leap in mobile photography. The Xiaomi 15T Pro, in particular, makes a huge statement by introducing the first-ever Leica 5x Pro telephoto camera in a T Series phone. This periscope lens promises to unlock a new level of versatility, offering up to 5x optical zoom, 10x optical-level zoom, and a whopping 20x Ultra Zoom, making it a serious tool for everything from detailed portraits to long-distance shots.
Both smartphones feature a 50-megapixel main camera with a Leica Summilux optical lens — f/1.62 on the Pro and f/1.7 on the regular variant. The Pro version further distinguishes itself with a high-spec Light Fusion 900 image sensor, which dramatically improves clarity and dynamic range, especially in low light. Working alongside this hardware is the company’s next-gen computational photography platform, Xiaomi AISP 2.0, with new features like PortraitLM 2.0 and ColorLM 2.0 that refine images with enhanced depth and color fidelity.
More than just a pretty camera
While the optics are the star of the show, the rest of the package is equally impressive. The two devices are powered by a large 5,500mAh battery, with the Xiaomi 15T Pro supporting both 90-watt wired and 50-watt wireless charging, while the Xiaomi 15T gets 67-watt wired HyperCharge. Under the hood, the Pro runs on the MediaTek Dimensity 9400 Plus 3nm chipset, and the base model is equipped with the MediaTek Dimensity 8400-Ultra. These processors deliver a significant boost in performance and are kept cool by the new Xiaomi 3D IceLoop System, which is designed for efficient heat dissipation.
The viewing experience is claimed to be top-tier, thanks to a huge 6.83-inch 1.5K AMOLED display with a peak brightness of 3,200 nits. The Xiaomi 15T Pro pushes this further with a 144Hz refresh rate and thin 1.5mm bezels, making for an immersive, edge-to-edge experience. The duo likewise features a unified glass fiber back and a durable Corning Gorilla Glass 7i display, offering a premium feel with added durability and an IP68 water- and dust-resistance rating.
The Xiaomi 15T Series is also among the first to launch with the new Xiaomi HyperOS 3, which promises enhanced multitasking, quicker app launches, and system-level intelligence from Xiaomi HyperAI.
