The rumors are confirmed, the embargo is lifted, and HONOR Philippines has officially launched its newest midranger, the HONOR X7d. This is the smartphone for people who treat gravity and liquids as suggestions, not rules.
And here is the crucial bit: The HONOR X7d with 8GB RAM and 512GB storage is priced at P9,999 (roughly $172) and is available exclusively through offline stores. Better yet, preorders are kicking off right now until October 24, and the company is throwing in a free HONOR Camping Light Speakers worth P4,999 ($86). You can find the preorder at your nearest HONOR Experience or partner store. There’s also an 8GB/256GB variant, and it will be released exclusively on Lazada, Shopee, and TikTok Shop for only P7,299 ($125).
Built to survive
If the goal of the HONOR X7d is to get the essentials right and make durability a mainline feature, it looks like HONOR has succeeded. The new unit is the direct follow-up to last year’s HONOR X7c, and it doubles down on the “all-angle water-resistant” philosophy.
The hardware is officially rated IP65, which means the device is sealed against dust and can shrug off low-pressure water jets — like a sudden downpour or a spilled drink. It’s not submersible, but it’s certainly one of the friendliest budget phones for surviving an accidental plunge or a trip to the beach. It also boasts an SGS 5-star certification for drop survival. Simply put, the HONOR X7d wants to live.
The just-launched device is likewise focused on making two things better than its predecessor: battery and memory.
The brand has packed a large 6,500mAh cell into the chassis, a significant leap that should offer multi-day use for many. It supports a respectable 35-watt fast wired charging, which, while not the fastest in the market, is enough to get that massive battery topped up in a reasonable amount of time.
Storage is also generous, offering a huge 512GB of expandable space paired with 8GB of RAM — a spec usually reserved for pricier handsets.
So what exactly is powering this water-resistant beast? Under the hood, HONOR went with the good ol’ 6nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 685 4G processor, paired with the Adreno 610 GPU. It’s a reliable engine chosen to keep costs down and the smartphone ticking.
The visual experience is handled by a large 6.77-inch TFT LCD display. You get that buttery-smooth 120Hz refresh rate, though the resolution lands at HD+. For optics, the company didn’t hold back on the headline number, slapping a 108-megapixel main sensor on the back, backed up by a 2-megapixel depth sensor. Selfies are handled by an 8-megapixel front lens.
It all runs on HONOR’s latest MagicOS 9.0, based on Android 15. You can grab this durable slab in three confirmed colors: Desert Gold, Meteor Silver, and Velvet Black.
