At its recent global launch in Bali, Indonesia, POCO unveiled two tablets alongside the POCO F8 Ultra and POCO F8 Pro.

For a good part of its keynote presentation, the Xiaomi sub-brand turned its attention to the big screen with the global and local debut of the POCO Pad X1 and POCO Pad M1. Here’s how they’re priced internationally and in the Philippines:

  • Global
    • POCO Pad X1: $399 (early bird: $349)
    • POCO Pad M1: $329 (early bird: $279)
  • Philippines
    • POCO Pad X1: P24,999 (early bird: P19,999)
    • POCO Pad M1: P15,999 (early bird: P12,999)

The pricing is unsurprisingly aggressive, especially for purchases made until December 9. To sweeten the pot locally, the two are bundled with a free keyboard case to complete the productivity setup right out of the box.

Let’s talk about the headliner first. The POCO Pad X1 is clearly positioned for those who need a bit more grunt under the hood. It sports an 11.2-inch 3.2K LCD display that looks incredibly sharp, and the 144Hz refresh rate means navigating through the interface or playing supported games should feel buttery smooth.

Powering this unit is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Plus Gen 3 chipset, which is a very capable processor for this price segment, paired with 8GB of LPDDR5X RAM and a generous 512GB of fast UFS 4.0 internal storage.

Gaming and productivity seem to be the main focus here. The POCO Pad X1 runs on Xiaomi’s HyperOS 2, which brings a suite of AI features for writing and searching, and it supports keyboard and stylus accessories. You get an 8,850mAh battery coupled with 45-watt wired charging as well, so topping up shouldn’t take all day.

On the other hand, if your tablet usage leans more towards binge-watching series or online classes, the POCO Pad M1 might be the more practical choice. It actually has a physically larger screen at 12.1 inches with a 2.5K resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. And while Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 processor inside isn’t quite as aggressive as the one in the Pad X1, it is plenty efficient for media consumption and multitasking. Not to mention, you also get 8GB RAM and 256GB storage.

The real star of the show for the Pad M1 is its stamina. POCO packed a massive 12,000mAh battery into this unit, which they claim can last over 14 hours of video streaming. It even supports 33-watt wired charging, plus 27-watt reverse-wired charging, literally turning your tablet into a giant power bank for your phone.

Both models come in Grey and Blue colorways and feature quad speakers with Dolby Atmos support, so the audio experience should be solid regardless of which one you pick.

It is interesting to see POCO diversifying its tablet lineup this aggressively. Whether you prioritize raw performance and a compact form factor with the POCO Pad X1, or battery life and screen real estate with the POCO Pad M1, there seems to be a solid option here for budget-conscious buyers.
