Following The Callisto Protocol, the Epic Games Store delivers one of the best RPGs ever made for Christmas.
Yesterday, the Epic Games Store treated us to the single-player survival horror of The Callisto Protocol (and Hogwarts Legacy a few days earlier). We were hoping the Steam competitor would keep the momentum going for today — given it is Christmas in many parts of the world — and it definitely didn’t disappoint.
For its ninth mystery freebie of the holiday sale, the Epic Games Store is giving away Disco Elysium – The Final Cut.
If you haven’t played it yet, you are in for a treat. The Final Cut is an enhanced version of the narrative-driven title that originally launched in 2019. It is, without hyperbole, a modern masterpiece. We’ve played this game across multiple platforms — including the original Nintendo Switch when the port launched back in 2021 — and we cannot recommend it enough.

Disco Elysium – The Final Cut is free for a limited time!
Unlike traditional RPGs that rely on combat, Disco Elysium is built on literature-quality writing and world-building. It also features a distinct oil-painting art style and offers vast freedom in how you solve a murder mystery and develop your character (or maybe ruin him). It is a truly unique, story-driven experience that sits comfortably alongside giants like Baldur’s Gate, Fallout, and the Wasteland series.
The Final Cut version included in this giveaway adds significant content over the original release, including full voice acting and new quests. The game typically retails for $39.99 (around 2,353 Philippine pesos converted) when it isn’t on sale. Over on Steam, it currently holds a “Very Positive” rating with over 53,000 user reviews, 92% of which are favorable.

The Epic Games Store will unlock another mystery freebie tomorrow for PC players. However, we don’t expect the same level of quality as today’t release. Disco Elysium – The Final Cut is a hard act to follow. Be sure to claim it before the timer resets tomorrow.
