Just a few days ago, HONOR introduced the WIN series, featuring a pair of gaming phones packing large 10,000mAh batteries. It seemed like the ceiling for the year, but the company was apparently just warming up.
HONOR has confirmed that it is preparing to launch another smartphone with a giant battery, the HONOR Power2, in China on January 5.
It will be the first device powered by the new MediaTek Dimensity 8500 Elite chipset. More impressively, the Power2 will pack a 10,080mAh fourth-generation silicon-carbon battery, which is somehow even bigger than the already-massive cells found in the recently announced HONOR WIN and HONOR WIN RT.
What makes this capacity particularly wild is the physical engineering required to pull it off. Traditionally, a battery of this capacity would turn a phone into a literal brick, yet HONOR claims the Power2 measures just 7.98mm thick and weighs 216 grams. For context, those dimensions would make the HONOR Power2 even thinner and lighter than both the WIN and its lookalike, Apple’s iPhone 17 Pro Max.
And to ensure you aren’t waiting all day to recharge, the device supports 80-watt wired charging, plus 27-watt reverse charging, effectively doubling as a high-speed power bank for your other accessories. Based on the teaser, the HONOR Power2 will be available in orange, white, and black. It will reportedly ship in 12GB/256GB and 12GB/512GB configurations.
The rest of the specs suggest a capable daily driver rather than just a backup unit. It is said to feature a 6.79-inch 1.5K LTPS OLED screen capable of delivering up to 8,000 nits of peak brightness.
HONOR’s promotional image has also revealed a triple-camera setup at the back, housed on a large rectangular module. The main camera is rumored to include a 50-megapixel sensor, while the ultrawide might offer 5 megapixels. Up front, the Power2 is expected to carry a 16-megapixel shooter for selfies and video calls.
