HUAWEI is kicking off 2026 by refreshing its midrange lineup of TWS earbuds in the Philippines. The technology giant has confirmed that the HUAWEI FreeBuds 7i will arrive on our shores Feb. 2, bringing flagship-level active noise cancellation to a wider audience.
While the official local sticker price is set to be under P5,000, or around $85 converted, these in-ears originally debuted in China last year for ¥599. This aggressive positioning places the new release in a highly competitive spot, promising premium specs at a fraction of the usual cost.
Like its predecessor, the FreeBuds 6i, the standout feature here is the upgraded ANC. HUAWEI claims the FreeBuds 7i can deliver a maximum noise-cancellation depth of 55dB through Intelligent Dynamic ANC 4.0, making them roughly 30% more effective than the outgoing buds.
But as anyone who has worn budget ANC gear knows, maximum depth isn’t everything — consistency is. To that end, the company says these earbuds deliver an average full-band noise reductiont of 28dB, creating a more natural listening environment by filtering out a wider range of frequencies, such as the low rumble of the MRT or office chatter, rather than just isolated high-pitched spikes.

Internally, the system uses an 8mm² rear vent and a “super-sized” air guide cavity. These components enable the HUAWEI FreeBuds 7i to detect and filter noise more quickly than previous generations, reportedly delivering up to 50% lower latency.
Under the hood, audio is powered by 11mm quad‑magnet dynamic drivers. The buds connect via Bluetooth 5.4 and carry Hi‑Res Audio certification, covering the essentials for punchy bass and crisp treble. In terms of codec support, they offer SBC, AAC, L2HC 2.0, and LDAC.
Unlike competing TWS earbuds that limit 3D sound to their own ecosystems (looking at you, Apple), the FreeBuds 7i are universally compatible. They use built‑in motion sensors to deliver immersive spatial audio with head tracking, whether you’re on an iPhone or an Android device.
For everyday use, the HUAWEI FreeBuds 7i have the basics covered as well:
- Up to 35 hours of total playback with the case (ANC off)
- Fast charging that provides four hours of listening time after just a 10‑minute charge
- Six‑mic array (three on each stem) paired with a bone‑conduction Voice Pickup Unit
- IP54 certification for dust and water resistance
- Extra‑small ear tip size, in addition to the standard small, medium, and large options
