OPPO has officially brought the Reno15 Series 5G to the Philippines, updating its “Portrait Expert” lineup with a clear focus on content creation — arguably a top priority for today’s consumers.
The Reno line has always been strong on still photography, but this year’s refresh, which comprises the OPPO Reno15 Pro 5G, OPPO Reno15 5G, and OPPO Reno15 F 5G, leans heavily into video stability and practical AI tools, wrapping it all in a design that feels current without trying too hard. The goal, we’re told, is to make content creation feel intuitive. Whether you’re recording a reel or taking a candid, the hardware is designed to fade into the background so you can focus on the subject, not the settings.
If you’re planning to grab one in the Philippines, you won’t have to wait long. Preorders run from Feb. 13 to Feb. 26 across Shopee, Lazada, TikTok Shop, and the OPPO Online Store, as well as all participating OPPO stores nationwide. And when it comes to the hit on your wallet, here’s a quick breakdown of what to expect.
- OPPO Reno15 Pro 5G. The top-of-the-line option will cost you ₱49,999 (around $860) for the lone 12GB/512GB configuration.
- OPPO Reno15 5G. The standard model arrives with ₱36,999 ($637) and ₱39,999 ($688) price tags for the 12GB/256GB and 12GB/512GB versions, respectively.
- OPPO Reno15 F 5G. The entry-level member starts at ₱23,999 ($413) for the online-exclusive 8GB/128GB base variant, climbing to ₱28,999 ($499) for the 12GB/256GB variant.
Early adopters who preorder can enjoy a generous set of perks, with freebies varying by model and platform, such as the OPPO Enco Buds3 Pro, a hair dryer, and platform vouchers. Flexible payment terms are also available, offering options like 0% interest through Home Credit and select credit cards for up to 12 months.
All the freebies and postpaid plans are listed at the end of this press release
Steady in 4K HDR
The headline feature this time around is the 4K HDR Ultra-Steady Video, available on both the front and rear cameras for the Reno15 Pro 5G and Reno15 5G. It’s excellent news especially for creators who are tired of choosing between high resolution and stabilization. Usually, enabling the “steady” switch on a midrange phone means suffering a heavy crop or watching the quality tank to 1080p. Or worse.
OPPO claims you can now walk, ride, or run while keeping 4K clarity intact, and we put that promise to the test during the company’s local preview event in Bukidnon. From climbing stairs to speeding down a zip line, the stabilization held up well, producing footage that remained surprisingly smooth — a level of performance that would have been unimaginable for a non-flagship device just a few years ago.
For moments where your reaction matters as much as the view, there’s also a Dual-View Video mode. It lets you record the scene in front of you and your face simultaneously, which is useful for travel vlogs where you don’t want to constantly flip the camera around.
The ‘Vibe Portrait’
On the photography front, the OPPO Reno15 Series 5G keeps the “Portrait Expert” moniker alive, but this year, it shifts the processing style significantly. The new 3.5x telephoto camera, available on the Pro and vanilla variants, introduces what the brand calls Vibe Portrait mode. We honestly expected this to be typical marketing fluff; however, after testing it firsthand in Bukidnon, the results were genuinely impressive.
Instead of the aggressive, cardboard-cutout background blur we’re used to seeing on most smartphones, the edge detection here is precise, creating a convincing and natural depth of field that ranks among the best in the segment. You’ll want to see how it holds up in real-world use, so hang tight because we’ll be posting our full review later today.
For group shots, the 50-megapixel selfie camera gets a practical upgrade with a default 0.6x ultrawide zoom, unlocking a 100-degree field of view. It might seem like a minor spec bump, but it actually solves the ergonomic problem of needing to hyperextend your arm or awkwardly step back just to fit the whole group in the frame. The wider perspective ensures that the friend standing on the edge doesn’t end up with half a face, resulting in naturally composed group photos.
AI-powered studio in your pocket, and more
Of course, it wouldn’t be a 2026 phone launch without artificial intelligence. This time around, however, OPPO seems to have focused on utility over gimmicks. The series integrates Google Gemini for natural language tasks, but the proprietary features are interesting. AI Motion Photo captures context before and after the shutter press, which you can then convert into GIFs or short videos. AI Eraser, as the name suggests, quickly removes photobombers or passersby with just a tap.
We also spent a good amount of time playing with AI Motion Photo Popout, which you’ll find buried in the Motion Collage menu. It sounds like a gimmick on paper, but in practice, the AI does a solid job of isolating the subject from a moving background. The result is a 3D-style parallax effect where the subject seems to break the fourth wall and step out of the frame. The edge detection is sharp enough to sell the illusion, avoiding that “cheap sticker” look you often get with software cutouts.
Then there’s AI Motion Photo Slow-Mo, which creates content that feels significantly more cinematic. This feature takes the fleeting, split-second movement captured in a live photo and uses generative interpolation to insert extra frames. It stretches a quick action into a fluid, polished slow-motion clip, turning what would be a frantic burst of movement into something smooth and watchable.

Perhaps the biggest surprise, though, is AI Portrait Glow, tucked away in the AI Editor toolbox within the gallery app. It remaps the exposure on a subject, emulating a studio fill light to lift heavy shadows and add definition. Having cut our teeth on local fashion sets surrounded by actual softboxes and scrims, we generally have a very low tolerance for digital relighting — it almost always looks fake and uncanny. This is the rare exception that the results look authentic.
It works on selfies, too, successfully mimicking that high-contrast “flash on the rear camera” aesthetic currently dominating social feeds, but with a level of polish that looks intentional rather than accidental.
For productivity, the AI VoiceScribe and Recording tools can transcribe meetings and summarize calls, a feature that’s slowly becoming standard on flagship-tier devices and is nice to see trickling down here.
Design and extras
Aesthetically, the smartphones sport a “Dancing Aurora” design. It’s a fancy way of saying the back panel shifts colors depending on how the light hits it, maintaining that premium, slim profile the Reno family is known for. If you’re buying into the ecosystem, the series is designed to pair with the new OPPO Watch S and Pad 5, with bundled discounts if you purchase them together during the launch window.
