TECNO has officially pulled back the curtain on its latest camera-focused duo, and it’s a clear signal that the midrange imaging war is heating up for 2026. The company just quietly launched the TECNO CAMON 50 4G and TECNO CAMON 50 Pro 4G in several African markets.
These smartphones are expected to be showcased at MWC 2026, so we at REVU Philippines will probably see them up close and personal in Barcelona, Spain.
Anyhow, true to the series’ DNA, the focus here is squarely on the optics. Both devices share the same 50-megapixel Sony LYT-700C main sensor — the same hardware found in last year’s CAMON 40 Pro 5G — designed to offer superior night performance and stability via optical image stabilization.

The TECNO CAMON 50 Pro, however, takes it a step further with a dedicated 50-megapixel 3x periscope telephoto camera. This addition, paired with a new AI 60x SuperZoom feature, looks to bring professional-grade reach to a more accessible price bracket. Up front, both phones house a high-resolution 32-megapixel camera for selfies.

The Transsion sub-brand is also addressing endurance in a big way. Despite the slim aesthetics, both models carry a 6,150mAh battery. TECNO claims these cells are built for the long haul, featuring a five-year durability rating. Charging is handled by a 45-watt wired Super Charge system.
On the display front, the CAMON 50 and CAMON 50 Pro feature a 6.78-inch AMOLED panel with a 1.5K resolution and a 144Hz refresh rate. The Pro model distinguishes itself with a curved panel, while the standard version sticks to a flat screen.
They are surprisingly rugged for “lifestyle” smartphones, boasting an IP68/IP69/IP69K rating for extreme dust and water resistance. Under the hood, they run the MediaTek Helio G200 processor paired with 8GB of RAM.
In Kenya, the TECNO CAMON 50 is priced at KSh37,500 (roughly ₱16,845 or $290), while the TECNO CAMON 50 Pro retails for KSh44,000 (₱19,765 or $341).
For comparison, the CAMON 40 4G launched in the Philippines in April 2025 for P9,999 ($177). While the new 50 series represents a significant jump in specs, it remains to be seen how TECNO will position the lineup locally to maintain its competitive edge.
