It’s officially trickle-down season for smartphone AI. Samsung has just taken the wraps off the Samsung Galaxy A57 5G and Samsung Galaxy A37 5G, and one big story here is how many premium software features are making their way to more accessible devices.

By bringing advanced generative AI tools and a promised six years of updates to the A series, the South Korean technology giant is making a clear play for users who want flagship longevity without the ultra-premium price tag.

Samsung is grouping its latest software additions under the “Awesome Intelligence” umbrella. Running on Android 16 and One UI 8.5 out of the box, the Samsung Galaxy A57 5G and Samsung Galaxy A37 5G lean heavily on AI to streamline everyday tasks. Here is what you are actually getting under the hood:

  • Smarter search and voice: Circle to Search with Google gets a multi-object-recognition upgrade, allowing you to search for several items in a single photo simultaneously. Meanwhile, Voice Transcription is now baked directly into the Voice Recorder app to transcribe, translate, and summarize meetings or calls.
  • Upgraded photo editing: Object Eraser has been refined for cleaner background removal, alongside familiar tools like Edit Suggestions and Filters.
  • A57-exclusive tools: If you spring for the higher-end Samsung Galaxy A57 5G, you also get Best Face for fixing group shots and Auto Trim for easier video editing.
  • Dual assistants: Both Gemini and an upgraded Bixby are on board. Bixby handles native device settings via natural language, while Gemini tackles complex tasks across native and third-party apps.

Both smartphones featurw 6.7-inch FHD+ displays with up to 120Hz refresh rates and Vision Booster for better outdoor visibility. The Galaxy A57 5G gets a slightly punchier Super AMOLED+ panel, while the Galaxy A37 5G sticks to standard Super AMOLED.

Samsung Philippines’ announcement. Unfortunately, we at REVU weren’t able to attend the pre-briefing last March 23

The Galaxy A57 5G runs on the brand’s new 4nm Exynos 1680 octa-core processor, promising to deliver a 42% boost in NPU performance to handle all those heavy-lifting on-device AI tasks. If you opt for the Galaxy A37 5G, you’ll get the Exynos 1480 chip, which still brings a 167% NPU upgrade over its predecessor.

The camera setup is another area where you see the real separation between the two tiers:

  • Samsung Galaxy A57 5G: Features a 50-megapixel main sensor, a 12-megapixel ultra-wide, and a 5-megapixel macro lens.
  • Samsung Galaxy A37 5G: Also packs the 50-megapixel main and 5-megapixel macro, but scales the ultra-wide back to an 8-megapixel sensor.

Both models sport a 12-megapixel front-facing camera and feature enhanced “Nightography” for better low-light performance.

Powering all of this is a 5,000mAh battery that the company claims can last up to two days of use. They also share an IP68 rating for water and dust resistance — a win for durability in this price bracket. The A57 5G takes the crown for portability, measuring just 6.9mm thick and weighing 179g, compared to the A37 5G’s 7.4mm and 196g frame.

The most compelling reason to pick up one of these devices might just be the support lifespan. Samsung is promising up to six generations of OS upgrades and six years of security updates.

This is backed by hardware-level security via Samsung Knox Vault and new software features like Privacy Alerts, which proactively warn you about suspicious data monitoring or location tracking.
