Samsung is officially tearing down one of the highest walls in the mobile ecosystem. The Korean technology giant announced it is bringing AirDrop support directly into Quick Share for the Samsung Galaxy S26 series. Yes, your Samsung flagship will soon be able to natively beam files to and from Apple devices without needing a third-party workaround or a cloud storage link.
The feature began rolling out on March 23 in South Korea and is scheduled to expand to other regions, including Europe, Hong Kong, Japan, Latin America, North America, Southeast Asia, and Taiwan. According to Samsung Philippines, local availability is coming soon, meaning Galaxy S26 owners in the country will not be left out of this cross-platform handshake. The rollout is currently exclusive to the new flagship lineup, though the company plans to expand the capability to additional Galaxy devices at a later date.
This is a significant shift for anyone tired of the endless friction between iOS and Android. Quick Share has long been Samsung’s answer to AirDrop, and its merger with Google’s Nearby Share in 2024 made it the de facto sharing standard for the Android world. This cross-platform interoperability actually kicked off late last year when Google brought AirDrop compatibility to Quick Share starting with the Pixel 10 series. Now, Samsung is taking that groundwork and building its own bridge directly into Apple’s heavily guarded walled garden.

How to AirDrop from your Galaxy to the iPhone (using Quick Share)
The update has not arrived on our Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra just yet, but we are hoping to get it very soon because we also have Apple devices like the iPhone in our daily rotation. Being able to seamlessly toss high-resolution photos and heavy video files across the aisle natively is going to be an absolute game changer for anyone trying to survive in a split-ecosystem household.
If you have been holding out on upgrading, the Galaxy S26 series is already available in the Philippines. You can pick one up right now, and if you are looking to manage the upfront cost, you can even get it from Home Credit for more flexible installment plans. It is rare to see this kind of ecosystem-agnostic olive branch in the tech world, and it makes Samsung’s latest flagship an even more compelling purchase for anyone living a dual-platform life.
