Chinese brand vivo is set to officially launch the vivo V70 FE in the Philippines next week, with a Facebook livestream kicking things off on April 12.
Predictably, the company is playing coy with the local pricing until the digital curtains actually part. But you don’t have to wait until then to figure out your budget. Thanks to a few early social media listings we’ve spotted here at REVU, the cat, so to speak, is out of the bag.
When it hits local shelves, the vivo V70 FE carries a suggested retail price of ₱23,999 (around $399) for the base model packing 8GB of physical RAM and 128GB of internal storage. If you need more room for your apps and media, stepping up to the 8GB/256GB configuration will set you back ₱25,999 ($432). Since the phone lacks a microSD slot, you’re probably better off spending your hard-earned cash on the larger storage tier.

So, what exactly are you getting for that kind of money?
Under the hood, the vivo V70 FE is built around the fairly new MediaTek Dimensity 7360 Turbo. The company also managed to cram a massive 7,000mAh battery into this model, backed by 90-watt fast charging to ensure you aren’t tethered to a wall all day. For the shutterbugs, the rear module is headlined by a 200-megapixel main sensor, while a 32-megapixel shooter handles selfie duties up front.
If you’re wondering how the midranger stacks up against the standard vivo V70, the compromises are exactly what you’d expect. The premium ₱35,999 ($599) sibling justifies its higher price tag with a few key advantages. For one, it rocks a more powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 chipset and a significantly more capable camera suite. Specifically, the FE drops the ZEISS branding and misses out on the 50-megapixel telephoto lens for zoom. Still, given the steep price gap between the two, those hardware cuts are understandable.
The real wrinkle in vivo’s launch plan, however, might be the competition.
Take a look at the TECNO CAMON 50 Ultra 5G, which is already up for preorder in the Philippines. On paper, TECNO’s latest makes a strong case for itself. You’re getting a faster Dimensity 7400 Ultimate chip, a sleeker curved AMOLED screen pushing a higher refresh rate, and a superior camera setup that keeps a dedicated 50-megapixel telephoto in the mix. Not to mention, the CAMON 50 Ultra 5G is the more practical option across the board. During the current preorder window, you can purchase the baseline 8GB/256GB CAMON 50 Ultra 5G for as low as ₱18,499 ($316).
