Xiaomi sub-brand POCO has officially launched the POCO M8s 5G globally, and as expected, the Philippines is among the first markets to get this latest midrange model.
Pitched as a logical upgrade for C lineup users, the M series has always been about offering more reliable everyday performance without completely draining your wallet. POCO’s M8s 5G leans hard into that philosophy.
The smartphone is now available internationally at the following prices:
Global early-bird pricing. As for the Philippines…
In the Philippines, the POCO M8s 5G is released in Black and White, with two configurations hitting the shelves: a 6GB RAM/128GB storage variant, alongside a beefier 8GB RAM/256GB storage option. In the Philippines, pricing starts at ₱11,999 (around $200) for the base model, while the higher version costs ₱13,999 ($234).
The first wave of units is dropping exclusively on Shopee, with Lazada availability opening up soon after. If you grab one before the early-bird promo ends on April 30, POCO is tossing in rebates of up to ₱960 ($16). That brings the 6GB/128GB model down to a more competitive ₱10,699 ($179), and the 8GB/256GB tier drops to ₱12,539 ($209).
How much the POCO M8s 5G retails in the Philippines
The biggest talking point here is the battery. The company managed to cram a large 7,000mAh capacity into the chassis, which POCO claims delivers a legitimate “two-day battery life.” Perhaps even more impressively, internal tests suggest that just 1% of battery is enough to push 59 minutes of calls or 7.5 hours of standby time.
The actual battery longevity is also a major focus. It reportedly retains at least 80% of its original capacity after 1,600 full charge cycles, which equates to roughly four years of daily use. When it finally does need juice, it supports 33-watt fast charging and features 18-watt reverse charging so you can use the phone as a power bank for your other gadgets.
Up front is a large 6.9-inch FHD+ display built for smoother scrolling, with an impressive refresh rate of up to 144Hz. It likewise boasts triple TÜV Rheinland eye-care certifications to minimize eye strain during long sessions, and features Wet Touch Technology 2.0, meaning the screen responds when your fingers are damp or greasy.

Under the hood, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 6s Gen 3 platform runs the show. This should make the jump from entry-level to midrange a bit more noticeable and rewarding. The POCO M8s 5G boots Xiaomi’s HyperOS 2 software out of the box and integrates software tools like Google Gemini and Circle to Search.
Around the back, a 50-megapixel main camera handles standard point-and-shoot duties, bolstered by creative artificial-intelligence tools like AI Erase and AI Sky for quick, on-the-go edits. Rounding out the spec sheet are a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, IP64 dust and water resistance, and a 200% volume boost feature to cut through environmental noise.
