Smartphones are always competing on a spec-sheet battleground, but HONOR is officially putting its chips on mobile photography for its latest release. If you look at the marketing for the newly launched HONOR 600 Series, the company is billing this as “The Best 200MP AI Portrait Phone.”

Launched this week globally, the HONOR 600 and HONOR 600 Pro are aiming squarely at content creators and anyone who wants studio-level shots without lugging around a DSLR.

The strategy here is pretty clear. HONOR isn’t just slapping a large megapixel count on the spec sheet and calling it a day. The 200-megapixel main shooter — a 1/1.4-inch sensor with optical image stabilization — is tuned specifically for portraiture. The Pro model sweetens the deal by adding a 50-megapixel periscope telephoto lens with 3.5x optical zoom and up to 120x digital zoom. It’s all backed by the brand’s new computational photography engine, which uses artificial intelligence to handle the heavy lifting for bokeh, skin tones, and tricky lighting.

HONOR is also pushing a feature called AI Image to Video 2.0. If you have a handful of still portraits, the HONOR 600 and HONOR 600 Pro’s onboard AI can stitch them together into an eight-second, highly stylized video based on text prompts. It’s a clever native tool that skips the need for third-party editing apps when you’re just trying to get a quick post up on your feed.

AI Image-to-Video 2.0 lets you turn photos into editable video using text prompts or reference frames

Powering all this computational wizardry is a 3nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset on the Pro and a 4nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 processor on the standard unit. Both devices offer up to 512GB of storage and 12GB of RAM, with a 16GB option available for the Pro model.

And while the cameras are the star of the show, the display is an engineering flex. The HONOR 600 Pro features a 6.57-inch AMOLED panel with razor-thin 0.98mm bezels, making the borders on current ultra-premium flagships look a bit chunky by comparison. It likewise boasts a 120Hz refresh rate, 3,840Hz risk-free PWM dimming to save your eyes at night, and a high 8,000 nits of peak brightness.

To keep the lights on, both smartphones are equipped with a 7,000mAh silicon-carbon battery. While capacities north of 6,000mAh are increasingly becoming the new normal for upper-midrange and flagship devices these days, it’s still a very healthy cell that easily provides enough runway for heavy days of 4K video recording and gaming. When you do need to top up, there’s 80-watt wired charging across the board, plus 50-watt wireless and 27-watt reverse wired charging on the Pro.

For durability, both models carry IP69 and IP69K ratings, meaning they can theoretically survive high-pressure, high-temperature water jets.

In Malaysia where the lineup has already arrived, the base HONOR 600 with 12GB RAM and 512GB storage is priced at RM2,599 (roughly ₱39,710 or $654), while the HONOR 600 Pro starts at RM3,099 (₱47,351 or $780) for the 256GB variant and RM3,299 (₱50,407 or $830) for the 512GB version. They’re available in Golden White, Black, and a striking Orange.

There is no official word yet on if and when the HONOR 600 Series will officially hit the Philippines. But given the company’s aggressive local lineup over the last few years, we’re definitely keeping our fingers crossed that it lands on our shores soon.
