HONOR isn’t pulling any punches to close out 2026. The company just dropped a trio of new flagship smartphones in China: the HONOR Magic9, the HONOR Magic9 Super Edition, and the heavyweight of the group, the HONOR Magic9 Pro Max.

If you’ve been following the pre-launch rumors, the final reveal lives up to the hype. We are looking at large batteries, active cooling fans, and a high-profile camera partnership with German cinematic titan ARRI.

Right out of the gate, these phones are priced aggressively for the Chinese market. The top-tier HONOR Magic9 Pro Max starts at ¥6,499 (roughly ₱60,580 or $968) for the 12GB/256GB model, while the fully loaded 16GB/1TB version will set you back ¥8,499 (₱79,225 or $1,266). The vanilla Magic9 starts at ¥5,000 (₱46,600 or $745). Interestingly, despite its monstrous battery, the Magic9 Super Edition is the most affordable of the bunch, kicking off at just ¥4,500 (₱41,940 / $670). Global details remain under wraps for now.

That aggressive pricing strategy is already paying off. On its first day of availability in China, the HONOR Magic9 Series claimed the No. 1 spot in sales among new Android flagships.

HONOR Magic9 Pro Max

The hero of the series is undeniably the HONOR Magic9 Pro Max. It is essentially a professional-grade video camera crammed into a smartphone chassis.

Powering the device is Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 chip, keeping a 6.8-inch LTPO OLED display (with a high local peak brightness of 10,000 nits at that) running smoothly at 120Hz. Turn around, though, and it’s obvious where all the engineering budget went. HONOR equipped the Pro Max with a dual-200-megapixel setup: a 200-megapixel main shooter with a huge 1/1.28-inch sensor and a 200-megapixel periscope telephoto capable of 3.7x optical zoom and up to 120x digital. A 50-megapixel ultra-wide rounds out the rear trio.

Through its partnership with ARRI, HONOR isn’t just slapping a logo on the back. The Pro Max model features ARRI image science, baked-in color profiles, and the ability to record in ARRI’s LogC3 Curve with full 10-bit color depth. Keeping all this running is an 8,800mAh battery that supports 100-watt wired and 80-watt wireless charging. Add in IP69K ingress protection, and you have a rugged, cinema-ready powerhouse.

HONOR Magic9 Super Edition

If you’re tired of living tethered to a wall outlet, the Magic9 Super Edition is an absolute dream. HONOR managed to stuff a jaw-dropping 11,000mAh battery inside this device, making it one of the largest power packs we’ve ever seen on a mainstream flagship phone.

Despite the big cell, the Super Edition remains slim at 8.1mm. It features a larger 6.81-inch 120Hz display and relies on last generation’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor. However, to keep sustained performance high, the company included a huge vapor chamber and a 30,000-rpm active cooling fan inside to dissipate heat.

The camera setup is a step down from the Pro Max but still highly capable, featuring a 200-megapixel main sensor, a 50-megapixel telephoto (3x optical), and a 12-megapixel ultra-wide. It also gets 80-watt wired and 50-watt wireless charging to top up that battery.

HONOR Magic9

The standard Magic9 proves you don’t need a large footprint to get flagship specs. It sports a more pocketable 6.37-inch 1.5K OLED display, making it smaller than its predecessor, yet HONOR somehow managed to squeeze in a larger 8,000mAh battery.

It shares the same Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 silicon as the Super Edition but borrows heavily from the Pro Max’s camera playbook. You get a 200-megapixel main camera and a 200-megapixel periscope telephoto, both with optical image stabilization, alongside a 50-megapixel ultra-wide. Like the rest of the lineup, it runs on MagicOS 11 based on Android 17 and boasts top-tier IP68/IP69/IP69K dust and water resistance ratings.
