Xiaomi is bringing its electric vehicle ambitions to the virtual track, officially dropping the sleek Xiaomi Vision Gran Turismo into Gran Turismo 7 this October.
Announced during the Gran Turismo World Series 2026 Round 3 in Singapore, the move makes Xiaomi the 36th brand — and notably, the very first technology company — to join the long-running Vision Gran Turismo project. For the uninitiated, the Vision GT initiative lets automakers design no-holds-barred concept cars exclusively for the hit racing simulator. The new hypercar is scheduled to arrive alongside the game’s Spec IV update.
We first caught a glimpse of the vehicle as a physical concept at MWC Barcelona and Auto China earlier this year, where it drew attention from car enthusiasts. Now, Polyphony Digital and Xiaomi are finally letting players get behind the virtual wheel.
Designed under a “Sculpted by the Wind” philosophy, the Xiaomi Vision GT skips the aggressive, jagged aero bits you would typically expect on a track weapon. Instead, the engineering relies on a suspended, teardrop-like cabin and an airfoil-like structure to maximize efficiency, netting a slippery drag coefficient of 0.29. Even the cross-shaped headlights double as airflow guides, while the halo taillight functions as a rear air channel.

A look at the Xiaomi Vision GT in Gran Turimo 7
One of the most distinctively “tech company” additions here is what Xiaomi dubs the “Sofa Racer” concept. Here is what you can expect inside the hypercar’s cocoon-like cockpit:
- Integration with the Xiaomi Hyper XiaoAi AI Voice Assistant and the MiMo foundation model to actively anticipate driver intent.
- A seamless connection to the brand’s overarching “Human × Car × Home” smart ecosystem.
- A promise of delivering a high-speed driving experience that feels as comfortable as racing on a sofa.
Gran Turismo series producer Kazunori Yamauchi praised the car’s aesthetic, calling it a future role model for this era.
The collaboration will also introduce the game’s first-ever EV Driving Experience. This dedicated program will feature driving challenges tailored around both the Vision GT and the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra to let players feel the distinct acceleration and braking of performance EVs. While the exact powertrain specs for the virtual Vision GT remain under wraps, it would not be a shocker if it shares DNA with the SU7 Ultra’s 1,525-horsepower tri-motor setup.
Whether you are eager to test its top speed at Le Mans, throw it around Suzuka, or just see how a tech company translates smartphone-era AI into a virtual race car, the Xiaomi Vision Gran Turismo is shaping up to be a compelling digital flex. Let’s just see if that “Sofa Racer” setup actually holds up when we are hitting the apex at the Nürburgring.
